I just bought a littman stethoscope at a local scrub store. I would invest in one because you can use it during school, externship, and when you get a job as a M.A. i have a stethoscope my school provided me with but i could not hear the korotkoff sounds when taking blood pressure. Trust me it makes a hugggggeeeee difference :)
I have a littman and it changed my life. I lucked out big time and found a littman IV on sale for $90. I assume a III would also be really good too, I had trouble using anything else for about a year because it’s so damn good and I got spoiled lol. I would keep your eye out for sales on them. I do also know plenty of people who don’t use littmans and they seem happy with theirs. I wish I could remember the brands. If you have to go cheaper, definitely do your research. I started out with a $20 stethoscope off Amazon and thought I would never get blood pressure because I couldn’t hear anything. If you have a really good ear, you might be fine with whatever, but a stethoscope is something you use for years, so if you have the money to invest in one I would highly suggest it.
