To prevent needle sticks...Please keep the vial on the counter when inserting the needle into the plunger. Please use the counter to close the shield over the needle, and not your hand. Administer the injection while the pt is sitting. You never know when they will pass out!
I went from Medical Assistant to Dental Assistant for several reasons. For one, we couldnt do this unless we had 2 years of experience as an MA before we did anything like this aside from taking vitals.
Usually, in my country, we are doing EVERYTHING in medical high school, going to hospitals, giving IV infusions, IV injections, intramuscular injections etc.. Literally everything. Dunno if it's a bad thing or not, but there's sure a lot of pressure and anxiety.
It seems like it’s very hard to find a job as a MA immediately out of school. I have a friend who got his phlebotomy license and it took him a year to find a job.
To everyone talking shit the title clearly says students learning to give injections. I'm a nurse and I still see people giving worse injections than these.
