A medical center near Detroit was designed with patients in mind. CBS News travel editor Peter Greenberg visits the hospital that looks and feels like a luxury hotel, and treats their patients as valued guests.
My husband has been a patient in HFWB since 2012. He had two surgeries to treat his IBD condition. The care and attention is top. I have so much gratitude to the staff, my admiration for the nurses. The food is amazing! I loved that I was able to stay in the room with him while he had to be hospitalized -many times- and worked from there (yep, wifi service!).
I’ve gone to this hospital since i was a kid, And weirdly I’ve always loved going to the hospital. This is the only hospital that doesn’t feel cold like other ones. The cafeteria is as good as it looks on camera the food is great and the staff is amazing. They even have a Starbucks right in the first hallway you walk through!
This is the worlds greatest hospital. They saved my life 15 years ago, now I will only go there. Unfortunately I have a condition that makes it so I end up in the hospital every few years. You don’t ever want to leave once you’re there lol. 1 update, there is no longer 24 hour room service. After the pandemic they’ve had a tough time finding people for the kitchen. So they have pretty strict times but everything else is the same.
This is the problem with the US. Economic injustice, which leads to slaughtering of quality of life and inequality of even opportunity, is worse than ever, the late 19th century or 1920s. We need a second revolution, 1789 style this time.
