Thank you. That was one of the most comprehensive videos I’ve seen on FEHB and Medicare. My husband is retiring in January and he is not the type that likes to deal with paperwork or administrative details so I’m trying to figure this all out on my own. Much appreciated.

My wife is turning 65, we get to pay $174.70/mo for absolutely nothing if she takes part B The Blue Cross premium will remain the same but they won't have to pay any benefits. It makes no sense to me to pay twice for the same thing.

Thank you for your infomration. My husband retired last year ( 2023) and I am still working and plan to til 67 or even 70. We are Both covered under FEHB. He is receiving his pension and SS, and I work fulltime ( not for the federaL GOVERNEMENT). I turn 65 this Oct and he will turn 65 next June. So according to your information, I should sign up for part A Medicare on or around my birthday since it is free. Then contact FEHB and let them know. 2. Our income 2 years back was high filing jointly, and now is not. Should I file an exception since I am covered by FEHB and wait a year til the lower income shows on the 2 year look back, or go ahead and apply for Part B as well and ask for a reduction since my husband retired a year ago, cutting our income in half? Lastly- since I am on my husbands retirment benefits FEHB, what happens if something happens to him? Do I lose coverage?
