i cried, reminds me of me and my beautiful cousin, everytime we saw eachother we made dance routines for our parents before we left...i miss her so much, the real her , but yes she has fallen into the path of drugs and distruction, i will always watch over her and try to keep her safe, but it is only god that can change the present, and her for her future...i love her with all my heart, but man did this duet break me Update: it’s been four years since I’ve posted this and one year since she’s been completely sober! God is great!
My own drug addicted cousin destroyed my financial capabilities for the next 6 years or so while I tried to help him... Don't offer more than you are willing/able to lose, in order to help your cousin! If anything good can come from my own situation, I'd be ok with someone just learning this vicariously through my own stupidity... Chances are, it will all be gone, even before they are. And you will be unable to do anything about it.
Its invaluable the way music and dance come together to transcend language in order to say the things we wish we knew how to find the words for (or the breath to begin). 9 years ago, but this is a story that'll never age and the way you and your partner tell it is something to behold. Amazing performance, and work, the way you two fluidly respond to each others movements in parallel is something that can be taught and practiced but you can't fake a great partnership. *Chefs kiss

this is beyond beautiful. this has been one of my favorite songs for years and i have never seen something that compliments it so well. absolutely heartbreaking and amazing.
I remember when three years ago I wanted so bad to take temporary dance classes and to convince my mom I showed her this video so she could see how beautiful contemporary is. After she saw it, she looked at me straight in the eyes and just told me "you would never be able to do that", and ditched the idea of me getting classes. She cut off my wings so harshly, it's still a painful memory:')
Being a bellydancer I started with contemporary one year ago. In this time I have been watching many videos. And this one has totally blew my mind. What a flawless work!
I see it as something I can sort of relate to. No one came to help when they were suffering, so when someone finally comes to help, they reject it. Maybe they're feeling spite, maybe they're feeling guilty for wasting their time, maybe they believe they're just too far gone. They try to leave the person trying to help, being afraid to grow attached, and they leave. When the person trying to help Is sick and tired of them not wanting help, they leave when the person finally tries to accept it.
I truly love the dancing and choreography I know the dancing tells the story. I feel like everyone else I would love for you to write back Simone the role you play the medicine or the friend who tries to help but has tried til the person has to sadly has to leave. I have build up courage to ask for the answer. Could you please answer!!!!
Hi! Sorry for the late response. In this piece I'm trying to help my friend with her addiction and struggle. I try to remind her and make her see that it is never too late to turn your life around and be who you want. Towards the end I leave because at a certain point if someone doesn't want to be helped then there's not much you can do for them and it is painful to stand there helpless and watch them suffer.
