This spawn 12" is based on his second costume that debut on issue 32. The only things Medicom didn't got accurate was that the optional hamburger head, that is based on issues 31 and early. The cape is accurate for the second costume but in issue 32 it shows shredded from protecting spawn in battle, a few issues later it slowly starts to regenerates. The figure looks very impressive. I only wish that Medicom would have use black spandex for mobility and a long dark red spandex cape with inner wires for posing.
There's nothing hotter than a chic who digs comics and action figures. Last year I kicked a hottie out the house after she called my "action figures" dolls fortunately it was after the deed so no harm was done.
Thanks for giving this figure some well deserved love! Definitely one of Medicoms best. The quality still stands the test of time today. The amount of looks you can achieve with the cape is beyond worth the price alone. Plus it has shoestring face as the alt.head which is a definite classic look for Al. Much love guys! Peace!
This figure looks awesome. I've been on a Spawn toy binge lately and got lucky on ebay recently, winning a lot of the complete series 1 to 7 spawn figures, all the vehicles and unopened playset for just 100.00 dollars lol! It all came on my door step in 5 huge boxes, yikes! But it was the best day ever. They're all mint inside their packages still. On top of that, I already own about 100 spawn figures, out of box, surrounding my office right now...lol I think I need to stop soon lol.
What a freeky looking dude! Ialways wondered why they only did the one movie maybe do another later down the track.I still think HellBoy can kick his ass .Good on Jason for pulling this baby apart for the viewers....COOL !! Thanks guys for another GREAT review bring it on.....
As always very nice review !! I love the figure too but i am not much of a Spawn fan to must have it in my collection but i have to say, interesting figure and character and followed it a bit in the early years when Todd also drew Spider-man and created Venom. I wish that Todd would spend more time on other things that he created I guess Halo is more important for him at the moment.
This figure is all HYPE changing heads was a major problem especially since I didn't know anything boil and Pop I am glad that she mentioned about NOT removing clothes though.
Yes, we too have a massive Spawn, although we've been slowly letting pieces go recently. If you are a fan, you must have this piece in your collection. It is easily among the best 1/6th scale figures PERIOD. You'll love him. Thanx and Peace, Jay and Wendy
damn..i miss spawn and the good ol' days of mcfarlane.:( they also need to put the flick on blu ray because now i feel like watching it. speaking of.."HELLo..reboot..anyone??"
@HotChixCoolToyReview WOW talking about the HBO series,i have some episodes too on dvd and those are creepy , the way how a Spawn movie should be. I was afraid that i was the only one who would think like that. Have a nice weekend !!!!
must get one. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction to find one and what would the cost be on that now? don't get rid of any of your toys!! I have most of the star wars and spawn collections out. oh and the tortured souls series. awesome channel. thanks you guys
Spawn used to be my fave but I lost sight of the story when the local comic shop went under, :( This is a pretty sick figure though. I'd like to see an updated version too.
@LaughItupFuzzball70 Thanx bro, We had a blast as usual. Hammer Head, Figrin Dan and something else very special are just around the corner. Stay tuned. Peace, jay and wendy
I have my medicom toy RAH spawn but his suit and cape has rotten and is fallin donwn in pieces. I would like to know if there a spare market of it. Thanks
Really cool Spawn figure :] Now I want one too! Me and My bros used to be big Spawn figures, we had some of the figures, but slowly forgot about him over the years, now I'm really Hype about Spawn again, after watching this video. Great opening, and review as always. -Roger :D
@Mecha82 Thanx, It was easily my favorite toy line of the time as well. I didn't read the comics, but I sure did admire the artwork. Thanx for watching and Peace, jay
Wow, great figure. Huge Spawn fan. Have all the Mcfarlane toy lines. Will have to seek this figure out and get one. Oh and the host Wendy is really hot!! Cool channel.
@xDarkDustx That's cool, I kinda like the fact that he was a hero even though he was from hell. I've never been a comic book person but when the figures came out in 94, I was very impressed. I collected the figures for many years until I started collecting 1:6. Medicom made me very happy with this guy since I'm not much for modern superheros otherwise. Keaton and Reeve and West are always going to be cool, but I'm really not into the new superhero films at all. Thanx for watching. Peace, Jay
@HotChixCoolToyReview Yeah, the mini series was awesome, i was talking about the flick though. It is a serious guilty pleasure..sue me.lol The suit was pretty cool. I dunno, but man, now i am in a massive Spawn mood. Might have to settle for my dvds if i can find them. Also, might try to pick this figure up now. THANKS ALOT! ;p
@tessjess1 Yes he is freaky, that's what drew me to him in the get-go. If the do make another film, I hope McFarlane writes and directs it himself. Hellboy? Ha!! Spawn would eat him up like a happy meal LOL. Just kidding, that would be a good fight. Thanx for watching and commenting. Peace, jay and Wen
@Martymcfly4242 Thanx and yes, This guy is superb. Hot Toys exclusive collectors are missing out on some really great pieces by passing on other manufacturers. I'm really glad I collected Sideshow and Medicom from the start, otherwise I might be without many great pieces like this one in my collection. The Medicom Kaneda/Bike for instance tops anything Hot toys IMO, but that's just me. I love all the old Japanimation from the 70's and 80's. Peace, jay
i sold this item a few days ago. And the seller says the vinyl underneath the cape had alot of glue on it. Now is the cape supposed to glue holding together or issit suppose to moved freely. Because i had the item over 2 years so i'm not so sure if its deteriorating or that someone sold me a broken thats been glued together. I never played with his cape.
What a score. Congrats. We still have a few hundred Spawn figures, but at one time we had way more. We started selling the more recent clamshell waves when we began to focus on 1/6th figures. We still have the first 10 or so carded series and tons of variants. No need to stop collecting, if it makes you happy. Peace, Jay
Christopher Jackson black women would disagree with you about the size of white dicks. Every time we give one a taste they act like they just hit the lottery. Maybe you've just been unlucky with the white guys you date.
@montoyag76 Cool, I guess you mean the less bulky spiked armor version. I guess, but I actually liked this version (I believe it's Spawn-3 or burnt Spawn) the best. I like em all though. we still have hundreds of carded Spawn figures from way back. Yes, I did all the illustration and thanx again. we'll definitely keep em rollin. Peace, Jay
@bladerunner1b Makes me want to watch the live action flick again as well, sometimes time changes views and opinions. I watched the Mini-series this week, to get into the mood for the show. Definitely scoop this bad boy if you can, he's a jewel. Hot Toys fans are sleeping on Medicom and Sideshow. Jay
@GoliathAngelus Yeah, I wish would have taken more control of the Spawn live action film as well. It was very weak compared to the HBO animated miniseries, which he was very much involved in. Oh we'll the figure is sick, one of my favorite hero figures in our collection. Peace, jay
@bladerunner1b Yeah, I have some great memories collecting Spawn as well. We still have a huge Spawn figure collection boxed away. do you mean the live action Spawn or the HBO miniseries? I wasn't crazy about the live-action, but the mini-series was sick. I watched it this week LOL. It would be really cool if McFralane wrote and directed his own Spawn film. I bet it would be very good. Peace, jay
@ccg1171 Thanx we love the figure as well. He's proof that Medicom can compete with anyone. And a good weekend to you as well, ours will be great since the UFC is on, we're big fans. Peace, Jay and Wendy
Hmm, you're probably going to have to search the web and maybe even resort to Feebay. Ocassionally one comes up, but they could get pricey. We have a reputable friend who was selling one without the box a little while back. We could contact him and hook you guys up, if he still has it and you are interested. Let us know. Peace, Jay and Wendy
@FrenzyandLazerbeak well they actually started as action figures and gradually evolved into sculptures/statues, which kind of turned me off to them, but yes revolutionary either way. I did collect Neca as well but I lost interes in 8" figures when I discovered Sideshow. Something about the fabric clothing and realistic articulation made me basically abandon McFarlane and Neca over nite and there was no turning back, although I stll have a few hundred carded Spawn figures. Peace, jay
@REYALSREIGN I loved the comics as well, but I didn't read em. It was all about the Art for me. I don't even think an update is necessary, this guy is superb as he is. Peace, Jay
mcfarlane revolutionized ...the toy production process...his action figures are basically small sculptures...wich lead to the current standard in toy making detail such as Neca and hot toys.. however has seriously done nothing innovative after buying the barry bonds home run ball... Cool Cape but Spawn...with no guns or accessories...thats Blasphemy!!
