Uncle Skull,14'th Panonian Regiment of the Imperial Guard True. But to me, defeating my enemies through shady court dealings and well-made alliances is just as satisfying.
No doubt about that. Another one that comes to mind is Knights of Honor. That one tried to combine the two,but the combination ended up being just lukewarm because they could not specialize enough in neither aspect. It isn't outright bad,but nothing to really write home about. Tough,in that game, once you become a superpower you practically get to play God. Which is kinda fun.
I vaguely Remember this song whilst i was Fighting egypt with some european faction on a dessert moutain. This was about like 8-10 years before this comment and i still visit this song among many others
Indeed. I am immensely proud of my Persian and Islamic background. One of my historical obsessions is the Persian Empire (the other ones being, the Ayyubids, Ottomans, and Holy Roman Empire/Prussia). But I'm glad that others can also appreciate the glory of the Persian Empire. The only Empire to survive for some 3000 years. But indeed, Egypt is quite an impressive civilization itself. Fascinating as Ancient Egypt, and Frighteningly awesome as medieval Egypt.
There's something badass about having this play while maneuvering a unit of Mamelukes to attack an enemy formation from the flank and watch them just steamroll through your opponents army.
You were more likely to get that treatment in Europe in those days. In those times, most arabic nations were more civil and tolerant than Europeans would ever be for many many centuries.
Haven't had water for 2 days, marched for weeks, last rations were ten days ago...but you broke the besieged walls! Now the hardest part comes...street by street fighting in a desert city.
This played in my game with Richard the Lionheart personally fighting Saladin right at the gates of Jerusalem. The King fought bravely but was slain, though not before Saladin also fell. His sacrifice was not in vain: the city was saved; the Saracen was driven away and slaughtered in great numbers.
Exactly. That's what I mean. The Arabs were using Gunpowder and Fire Weapons as early as the 1300s. It surprises me that they didn't include that in Broken Crescent.
charging mameluke cavalry into the breach in Rome's defenses, breaking the papal states' cavalry, cutting them down like dogs when they flee in terror, and winning the battle, then raize the city to the ground... I love this game XD
and when you do, remember that the most of those dicatorships were placed by americans and their allies, its not the pawns fault, always, its the master that pulls the strings.
There was more to it than that. Holy lands happen to be the connecting place for the spice and silk trades with china, they were wealthy lands with developed cities and towns. Loot to be had. Many knights who went crusading weren't that bothered about the religious aspect but wanted to get good loot or land.
Mounted Archers can't help you too much except in certain situations anyway, they should have good amounts of down-time between each fight to begin with.
This is a great soundtrack. The sound of my horse archers shooting down those slow chasing knights one by one until they turn tail and run. ;) Mamluk Archers are awesome to mass.
People, I don't care which of you were "better" or "less powerful" so many centuries ago. I came here to listen to this beautiful music, not to join your debate about "who was best". So this is and will be the last thing I say about your pathetic discussions.
Exactly. The problem is that there are not enough good people taking a stand against these extremists. Of course in recent months, that's started to change to some extent. A friend of mine always uses the example of the Troubles in Ireland. The Troubles came to an end because good Catholics and good Protestants came together and took a stand against the IRA and other extremists. And in many Islamic countries, Shias and Sunnis are coming together to take a stand against this sectarian violence.
@SgtDesertTigerIITRII You are wrong. Ottomans "liberated" Balkans, coz they were suffering from scholastic catholism (they were pagans and orthodox etc). But even in golden age of ottomans (Suleiman's era) there was Celâlî riots in Anatolia. I was trying to explain, Ottomans had different production method than European feudalism. The word of "despotism" doesn't mean "Ottomans were despotic, europeans were not".And I'd read many books, articles bout that, I can assure you
I love how thousands of people died over a fight of Who has the awesomer imaginary friend, and now, commenters argue about who won. Nobody. There were only losers of it. The crusades were awesome, but the reasons to have it are just sad...
I find it funny how even thou Athiests have no real evidence they can still say that a Diety is an imaginary friend. Why don't you go back to your fedoras and mountain dew buddy.
@SgtDesertTigerIITRII Infrastructure means whole structures which adds economical boost and developement to the reigion. Example, roads, irigation, dockyards etc. Asiatic despotic civilizationsbuild such infrstrctre in order to fulfil conquering armies' logistics, not for region's economic needs. And Ottomans never build such things not only Europe or middle east but also Anatolia itself. Stuctures such as hammams, mosques etc are cultural buildfings not economic.
try broken creascent you get the full scope of arab and turkic factions all the way from turkey to india. including the seljuks, abbasids, omani's turks, egyptians, ghorids, armenians, georgans, crusaders and kwarasmians, plus also the byzantines, indians, and qipchaqs from the crimean region and the makurians in nubia.
Exactly. I would actually argue that it all began after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. I mean previously, the Ottomans had tried to keep the Muslim people moderate with a great deal of success until its dying days when constant defeats and European expansionism forced Muslims to become more extremist to protect their identity. However, Islamism is an idea meant for the 18th and 19th century with no more use in the 21st century, but it refuses to die even though its now an obsolete ideal.
@Mushkenu ok,so i didnt relly read the whol thinkg and story,so i dont know what ar you talking abaut, but eny way,Ottomans didnt "liberate" Balkans (Mostly Serbia). They Conquerd it,and they wore NOT pagans, pagans are Celts which are mostly termenated from balkan a long time before Ottomans "leberated" Balkans. PS: Liberateing is a good thing, which Ottomans didnt do,they conquerd it and killd meny people, which made a scar on Balkans for a long long time... (sorry for speling mistakes) :D
Well the Winged hussars were famous for there enormous wings on the back of there armour. There lance is 3 to 6 metres long. Which makes Pikemen impossible to face Winged Hussars. And a problem for enemies is there horses. There horses are so fast that It could stun many people. There armour was one of the best armours in Europe in that time. musket balls can Kill a couple of them but the Hussars can still drive through the enemy lines. They were never defeated for over 125 years! Poland rules!
It is more like Eastern mix. Not just Arabic. Begging is like an indian one, stringed instruments are Turkish and melody has a little bit of both Arabic and Persian feeling.
The song represents more when you are fighting in the territories that are in control of Islamic factions at the start of the campaign, or by Islamic rebels. For instance, when I was fighting Spain as the Holy Roman Empire near Cordoba, I heard this track. I was still on the European continent and this track still played.
But you're still not them, that's the point I'm trying to make. You're referring to events from many centuries ago like they just happened the other day.
That will be a great day. The Middle East is the cradle of Human Civilization. From the Ancient Egyptians to the mighty Persian Empire to the great Arab Caliphates and Ottoman Empires. I really hope a day will come when Muslims, Christians and Jews look past their differences and work together for a better tomorrow.
Indeed. Where once there was advancement, enlightenment and knowledge, now we have ignorance, violence and madness. These days I can't even bear to read a damned newspaper because it just frustrates me.
Not true we held back the turkish invasion in 1683 38,000 to 150,000 and we won. We are proud of our winged hussars. We are proud that we stand up for the world war 2. We are proud of being catholic, we are proud that we made vodka, we are proud that we have the tallest eastern Cathedral. And we are proud of Europe, we are proud that we have land to live in, we are proud that we stayed in the Deluge, we are proud that we won the Great Northern war! What did you do, rip up pieces of paper!
but you are wrong my brother this symbol was first used by muslims at the Ottoman flag for the Ottoman Empire it is a symbol for some muslim countries ..... but it is not an islamic symbol
I have a love hate relationship with this song i hated when i had an army of heavy christian knights in a battle against light arab horses with bow n arrows i could never catch the feckers
The first time I heard this was when I was attacking Jerusalem... my trebuchets were destroying their towers whilst the pre-battle music played, then I moved my enitre army forwards and this theme played. Was one of the most incredible things. So awesome.
I still remember the chills that this gave me when I was fighting the Mongols with Spain, and when my cavalry reached the flank charging at full force, with the cannons firing non stop when the trumpets started to sound, the musketeers firing and the cannons blowing the Mongols up and the sound of lot of horses running towards the enemy with every gunpowder gun firing was epic
Politic/historic shitstorm everywhere. Enjoy this music and cultural differences, they are our greatest richness. Blame politicians for war, not people.
Khaled Kutbi You make me laugh my ass off. Not only through your comments but through your display pic which totally contradicts your relegious standing.
@@furkanaydin8046 You would have a point if I said it is wrong to debate these things. And you got five likes from people who assumed I had no rebuttal when it was just youtube did not notify me of the response.
@@waldoshelby1139 Medieval 2de bir de Attila MK1212 modunda selçuklu oynarken çalıyordu savaş sırasında Müslüm gürses çalıyor sanmıştım ilk duyduğumda :D
I love Broken Crescent. That is an absolutely wonderful mod. My only problem is that it doesn't have gunpowder units so you can't experience the full glory of the Ottoman Empire's Crack Janissary Regiments or their fearsome Monster Bombards. However, playing as the Ayyubids with their Elite Mameluke Cavalry is just awesome. Makes you appreciate the badassary of Medieval Islamic Armies and Culture.
***** Give me the excerpts where they say Bedouins are not Arabs. And you're Turkish, would it make sense you are 100% Turk like the Tuvans? Who would be Arabs?
The part beginning from 2:00 always seems to play when my troops rally round my general or when the enemy army completely breaks and routs after a massive cav charge
Im muslim and im under no flag I m under allah and the light of sun give us the hope to live in peace BIG love from TUNISIA for all kind of race and relegions =DD
