Medieval Armored Dane Axe Sparring: 12th Century Kievan Rus [ Historical Martial Arts ] 

North West Historical Fencing- Full contact HEMA style sparring with high medieval armor and weapons from the 12th century Rus lands.
This is a first in a series of sparring videos experimenting with the use of helmets and mail in our training to see how this changes the fight dynamic.
Hits to armored areas aren't scored, and for the purposes of this experiment the fencing mask overlay represents an open face helmet with only the mesh as a target zone.
