To increase villager’s happiness after the basics of food, water, firewood, house and work is done by improving the house they live in and/ or giving them a better one. Houses made with wattle gives less happiness than insulated wattle which gives less happiness than wood houses which gives less happiness than insulated wood which gives less happiness than stone houses which gives less happiness than insulated stone. BTW insulation decreases firewood consumption. Then putting decorations in the houses increases happiness. Finally as they level up their skill they become happier. You can’t overwork them so don’t be afraid to put their work level at 100%

The villager work intensity doesn't matter for happiness. As for the Iron in the cave, you'll find some flat walls in there that say that they require a Mine if you go near them. Once you build a Mine on the front of the cave, it knocks down those walls and there's Iron behind them. There's a cave at the SW town you can find some Iron in that you can mine. I believe it's the only place on the map that has Iron able to be mined before a Mine is built. Edit: Commented too soon, you mentioned it :)

The cave where you're mining is often a den for 2 wolves so you may want to be careful next season as they could show up at the start of a season. The cave you found on the way to Skauki is the opposite end of the working Skauki mine.

The villagers you higher to date have stats from 1-3 in each skill. The exception is quest npcs from your wife quests: they have one skill at 6 and the rest at 3 to start. I generally try to get workers with as many 3s as possible. They do gain exp over time and will have the highest happiness if you put them in a job they like/ matches their strongest skill. Intensity has not been a factor to mood previously- needs met, quality of amenities ect have affected mood. Your donkey may be able to be ridden into the mine. I use to always take mine with me on the valley map. The whistle function does not work in the mine Iron is the hardest to see. I skim the wall and look for the name change to be sure I got it all. Sometimes is a tiny section on a corner or half hidden by a beam. If the map works like the valley the mine resets every season and the ore deposits are full again. Smithy items: these may have been rebalanced but the shovel and hoe were two of the highest priced things to sell. You could also consider shears- no wood just bars to see if it would boost your returs. They are also lighter than the other 2. Note for farmers: they can handle a large field or 2 but take care not to go too wild with large fields as they may struggle to complete their task, especially at lower levels before season end.

If it's like the original map, once you're able to establish a proper mine at the cave, a deeper section opens up and there you will find iron deposits. Cheers.

The iron in that mine doesn’t get unlocked until you actually place the mine building down there. However the mine at the town in the lower left corner does already have iron unlocked because they have the mine building already

I just started playing this game and ran across your videos! I love them, they're very informative and I love your narrative style. Your videos are helping me figure it out, for sure! You should name your donkeys Lampwick and Saleo like the boys from Pinocchio! I think it would be a fun little easter egg for the people who like the classic fairytales.

I think the rye is used in making animal feed (+oat and straw) so you might want to keep some of your crop. Also, iron appears after you've gained the 'mine' skill and 'built' your mine. The mine near the other village I think is "their mine" so it will have iron, I didn't see a 'steal' indication, so maybe you can mine iron, at least a the 'open' end.

Great video. You are not able to decrease happiness by over working the workers. The work intensity only dictates the amount of items produced/gathered ect. Happiness can be increased by better foods, insulated buildings and creating families. Best of luck for the rest of the series and enjoy the profits from the linen.

5:30 About the stumps getting in the way: people say removing them makes the town looking bad meaning that if you adapt your town design by the position of trees, it will look more natural and therefore better. The tree itself doesnt make a town look good. Its the choices that you have to take to build around trees that make a town look good

Heads up, you just ask one of your villagers where stuff is. Dont have to eun all the way to town.

Hey love this game play it loads. The mine won't give you iorn ore until you actually build it into a mine you find it on your wheel but you must have enough technology points to do so. Yes you can get copper, tin and salt until then. Bye 👋

Bear in mind that you need linen thread to make bows and fishing spears! Superfluous flax seed is a great money spinner (pun intended) but keep plenty for sowing.

You can ask your own villagers about the location of animals and stuff, you don't have to go to a town :)

Note: 1. double check this, but if you don't have a villager assigned to you're animal pens they won't breed. 2. others have said similar stuff, but when you are building your houses you can edit the walls and roofs to build better version of themselves. ex. wicker walls into stone walls. 3. you might want to think about age as your first priority when picking villagers. their skills can go up to 9-10 I believe. Love the series love watching it while I'm at work. liked your Valheim videos as well. do you think you will do Co-op in this game. fair warning I think taxes are bugged in co-op.

i didnt find any iron in clearing it fully out 2 season behind each other, nah no iron there if you ask me (salt/tin/copper) nice vids keep them comming!!

During early access your could find iron in all mines from the beginning and people would just mine the iron themselves and entirely ignoring the metals that are supposed to come before. As of release you only get access to iron once you build the mine as it let you dig deeper to where you can find iron. The people saying you should be able to get iron probably played early access.

I think you mentioned finding iron 2 episodes ago, and showed how it blended in pretty well with a wall.

You should definately get workers in your animal pens. If you don't, they won't breed and also they will collect anything the animals are producing

Sorry about the mis-information about the alt key 2 videos ago. Started a new game to see, guess I picked up the tier 2 perk early. The only place ive found iron in the cave next to Skauki. Also if you check your technology screen and select say linen shirt, it will tell you how much its worth.

Too bad you didn’t show your way through your mine. I was building a mining entrance aka mine and then just followed the path in it going always to the right and there is plenty of iron in it. Usually I get about 90 iron ore from one full run through it. Not sure if the entrance changes the mine layout tho. And yes, turning off head bobbing and camera shaking is much better. I think the people you can hire get better stats over time by themselves as they age up, but I could be wrong. I don’t mind their stats too much when I hire them since they level up themselves pretty quickly.

Dont bother with iron in early-mid game, focus on copper. I made a small fortune with copper sicles, i hope this heps (iron tool will be available with smithy 3, and that takes a long time to unlock).
