Did medieval monks run away from the world, or more deeply into it? The Catholic monastic life tried to turn down the noise of human society, to immerse themselves in the created order, so that they could participate more deeply in the life and rhythms of the natural (and supernatural) worlds. They didn't run away from the world, they walked toward God.

Your channel is so incredible!! I realize now that all my life since I met God in nature as a 12-year-old that I've actually been, in my own way, trying to replicate the monastic lifestyle in how I go to nature... but I've been confused along the way. I wish I could do this! I don't know if Catholic young men are still like this, I don't think they are... from what I've seen they, even in monasteries, are too secular and talk about nonsense things of the world. I want to fully immerse in this... but also be married one day. I want to give it all to the Lord, that's been my desire since I was 12!
