Not sure if you guys hear this enough, but with all of the photographers out there, you guys know how to remain separate. Keep these coming! They help inspire myself to keep going out and shoot with our old beautiful machines

That is such a rad comment to get. We don't hear that all too often so it is really nice to hear. Keep on shooting those old beautiful film machines!

I love my Mamiya 645. Hoping to get a Pentax 67 when I have the money for one. 😮‍💨

Both are rad cameras...there's something really special about that Pentax 67 though...

I've never shot the Pentax (would love to own one) but I have to say the Mamiya is a great introduction into medium format, even with the 80mm F2.8 you have amazing shallow depth of field... Or splash the cash and get the 1.9! However, with all that said (clearly subjective) I prefer the 6x7 negatives to the 6x45 and in my case from the Mamiya RZ67.. .. Great Video guys 👍

The Mamiya is a really great intro to medium format and that 1.9 lens is a beauty. If you have the chance, definitely try out the Pentax 67. It is such a fun camera to shoot. Feels like a bigger 35mm camera, which ergonomically is great. And that 105mm lens is gorgeous. We have a few in our shop - and the nice thing about those...they have great resale value if you decide you don't want to continue shooting with it. Just a thought....thanks for taking the time to comment!

I have a Pentax 645 system like new , only about 50 rolls of film through it. I bought it new at B&H in the 90s, I have the boxes and everything.thinking about letting go of. What is the best way to sell it. I have photos of the entire kit.

Where is the comparison? You gotta talk about the cameras instead of just showing pictures taken with them

Curious about your thoughts on the 67II vs the 67?! Also would love to see a video comparison on the Pentax 645n vs Mamyia 645 AF

it depends on your budget I think. if you can afford 67II then go for it but personally I think its too expensive. if u shoot at night then buy 67 with mirror lockup function if u don't need then just go with original 67 which is a lot cheaper then 67II. they all take great pictures u don't have to have 67II to take great photos. same with 645, if you can afford 645n then go for it. one of the best camera designs ever but if you are looking for cheaper alternative, go with mamiya 645

I just bought a M645 and I for sure regret it. I never realized the difference between 645 and 6x7. It really is a HUGE difference. 645 film pictures can EASILY be remade with digital cameras. But 35mm grain can never be replicated, and 6x7 also has a look that just can't be replicated. For me, 645 isn't very impressive at all. I'd rather stick to 35mm !

Most every one of the color photos appear to be overexposed. (I am using a color calibrated, 10-bit, professional 4k BenQ monitor) Is there a problem with the film stock?

You have an observant eye Harry the Wolf, and a great monitor. This is Braedon responding - I tend to intentionally overexpose all my color film due to preference. I mainly shoot back-lit and mainly shoot portraiture and generally always expose for the shadows. It's what I like and how I like it. When shooting front-lit, I don't like the film overexposed but on a dreary, cloudy morning while shooting, that's what I chose. Nothing is wrong with the film stock, you just happen to like a different look than I do. And that is the great thing about film and having choices.

@@FilmSupplyClub Wow. Thank you for the response, and, thank you for taking the time to tell me about your process. That's why I watched your video. I wasn't trying to play gotcha, but, genuinely curious as to the how and why. My preference is to use an LED RGB (light that is capable of a spectrum near 2600k-6200k), a minolta colormeter, and a reflector, and add light to the outdoor subject, whether it be just fill & side fill, or whatever. I use the colormeter to match the color of the fill light to the natural light in the scene/shot, as well as measuring light intensity with a light meter. It is a lot more work using these extra tools, but, it's worth it.
