@@ViktorRadoslavov I have his Hyperion album and I have huge respect for Hamelin, but when it comes to slow, passionate compositions, I kind of find his renditions not to my liking. As if something is missing... or there's too much strict punctuation.
That was him coming back from whatever otherworldly place he went to when playing this. It took him awhile to come back. And he took us all there with him.
Message to Alexander Malofeev: Privet Alexander; Here you are in Western Europe, far away from your beloved Family in Moscow. I was the last one to meet you Oct. 1st. in Amsterdam. You still have the 2 white cloths and the 2 little clogs? 🙂. I heard you are living in Berlin for now. Many of us are praying for your happiness, hoping that you soon will be able to visit your family again. Thank you dear young man for all you give us and for your great Russian music. Flowers for you from Amsterdam. XO 🌷🌷🌷
You are so lucky to have met Alexander!! I went to a concert of Alexandra Dovgan last November and did the same as you, I gave her flowers 💐 and a bag with small presents to show my support. She was very surprised. I just felt that I have to do something to express my sympathy ❤️
@@emilyhutjes Emily, is it possible to get in contact with you? I am trying to gather a few people to support Alexander. I am in contact with him. Though he is very busy, he seems to be quite lonely (I‘m going to delete this message after you have read it, because I don’t know if Alex likes it)
@@mathildewesendonck7225 hello, how do you know that Sasha is quite lonely? I also would like to give him support if he appreciates that. How is it possible to get in contact with you?
This is absolutely heavenly and is poetic artistry at its very finest, all in Alexander Malofeev. Such gentle golden silence at the end that one could hear a pin drop. Just incredible.
QUEIRA DESCULPAR-ME !!!... PORQUE, TODA VEZ QUE REFIRO-ME AO NOME " ALEXANDER MALOFEEV ", EU O ENGRANDEÇO NÃO APENAS COMO "GÊNIO ", MAS COMO UM AUTENTICO " HIPER-ULTRA-SUPER PRODÍGIO !!! ", NA CERTEZA DE QUE TODOS O DESTACAM ASSIM TAMBÉM, E O QUE ÀS VEZES OCORRE É O FATO DE IMPLICITAR-SE A ALUDIDA FORMA DE ELOGIO. FERNANDO DIAS BORGES, em 21/08/2.023.
Absolute same here and could not agree more with @alanpotter8680. How unbelievably addictive Medtner’s music is, let alone when played by Alexander Malofeev! No wonder Rachmaninov himself considered Medtner as the best Russian composer of his time. « Forgotten melodies » one can never forget!
Breathtaking..., my very dear Alexander, what a real great pleasure to see you and enjoy the pure beauty of your interpretation, you are lovely and absolutely fantastic, thank you so much for being there and sharing your huge and beautiful talent, love you 💖
Certainly one of the most hypnotizing and beautiful pieces of music I‘ve ever heard in my life (55 yrs). @Frankfurt audience: This was the time when it‘s better to suffocate than to cough. (AM‘s undisturbed focus is greatly appreciated!)
I can say that Medtner was a favorite of V. Horowitz...he said as much at a house party I attended in NYC around the bicentennial events..this amazing young artist is a worthy champion of Medtner's art
Alex: Each time I see and listen to you,I feel more admiration for the beauty you give us in your actings, being marvellous.no doubt, showing a great sensitivy.
ALEXANDER MALOFEEV !!! É INDEFINÍVEL POR PALAVRAS !!! ALEXANDER, SOU E SEMPRE SEREI INCANSÁVEL PARA REPETIR : - PARABÉNS, ETERNAMENTE !!! FERNANDO DIAS BORGES, em 20/04/2.024 .
You can hear how the piano hasn’t recovered from the Rachmaninoff … But what a lovely way Medtner has of making you feel you are sitting beside him while he improvises something beautiful on the piano. Few serious composers are that laid back.
Alexander; your gift from god thus, you need to look like what you are “ a musical genius” like Mozart was; let your hair grow and put on a flamboyant light top when preforming…then you parallel with your music. God bless.
Is it the una corda pedal that makes certain passages sound like an old upright piano or it's just my imagination? I only hear this on Malofeev's performances of Medtner.
@@alanleoneldavid1787 Perhaps, I was on both concerts that week, but it happens on several other performances of Medtner's pieces with Malofeev. Granted, all were encores after a massive concerto.
Alexander recently gave a Rach 3 concert in the Musikverein in Vienna (legendary concert hall) where he totally destroyed the beautiful Steinway, lol. The encore was unbearable because the grand piano was so out of tune, according to some witnesses 😂
Chopin would have played this beautifully ! But he was born before and died long before Medtner came to be. Yet i can imagine Chopin playing this better than anyone else.. I recognized N. Medtner as a great composer immediately when i first heard some of his pieces in conservatory around 2002, nobody played him then. My teacher was surprised that i wanted to learn his pieces, "Who ?!" he told me he is not a major composer in the general repertoire for piano. I said nothing but never accepted that. Also i think Beethoven is NOT a major composer for the piano. At least 3/4 of his sonatas are fluff made from straight arpeggios and scales played too fast and noise, but i was wise enough not to say that either. And i formed that view over 20 years, not a superficial opinion.
What have Medtner or Malofeev done? They're guilty because they just were born there? Does the country you're from dictate your personality and your morals? That's just racism and stupid nationalism... We all belong to the human race, and we should all do our best to make everyone's life the best possible, not be divided by nationality or origins. Just enjoy this beautiful music by an incredible composer and played by an outstanding artist
Alexander has denounced Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Alexander is not a politician and has no control over Putin. Alexander is a gentle and kind soul who is very much worth hearing. Music should always be free from prejudice. Russia has produced many great musicians inspite of bad political leaders.
