Kendrick, cole, pusha t, don't count the youth and the elders out too fast, some younglings got good ears to appreciate the old and some elders got unbiased ears and can appreciate the now. Don't generalize hiphop, that's when u go wrong
The fact that Jay-Z starts off his verse on "What's Free" with the Three-Fifths Compromise then following it with his investment ownership percentages is unbelievable.
That is so odd that Complex a big industry ran business can only play like 5 seconds of song/ interview where as the J.B. Podcast which I assumed is creator owned (not sure if this is under Diddy company, like SotC) can play whatever, whenever cause the people fuck with this podcast...suspect
A urban author, can't think of his name, got the permission from Meek to make Tony Story 1-3 a novel. Even knowing the story, that still was one of best books I read in jail..
Verse of the Year Contenders: Lil Wayne “Open Letter” verse 2 J. Cole “Friends” Meek Mill “oodles’ o’ noodles babies” verse 2 Meek Mill ft. Rick Ross &Jay-Z What’s Free” Jay-Z verse Swizz Beatz ft. Pusha T “Cold Blooded” verse 2 Wiz Khalifa “It’s on You” verse 2 Kids See GHOSTS “Cudi Montage” Kanye verse Feel free to add...
The samples seemed to be Meek paying homage. The younger generation was introduced to a host of old/other artists. The samples were done in good taste. Glad to see him growing 👊🏽✊🏽 ! I agree it feels like a fire mixtape.
34:46 “You run a check up but they never give you leverage” has two meanings: “Leverage” along with power, is also a term in finance used for debt that you use to build wealth (like taking out a mortgage for an investment property, for example). So on one hand he’s saying “They’ll let you spend spend spend but they’ll never give you power” but the line is also “They’ll help you accumulate debt but they’ll never help you build wealth” Think about it. A bank will give you a $30,000 car loan long before a they’ll give you $30,000 to start a business.
Bank can take your car back and sell it to make there money still. Not much a bank can do with a failing business... hope your business that you want to start doesn’t include handing out loans lol
U run the check up means they’ll cut u a 200 million dollar check for a Nike shoe deal , but they never give u leverage means you’ll never be the majority partner in the company if u have any ownership at all!
Howard Smith 1. *their 2. Often times a bank will want you to have a certain net worth or enough liquid assets to qualify you as a personal guarantor of repayment before they hand you that money, so that kind of kills your point and emphasizes Jay’s.
zlistcelebrity I mean wouldn’t you want to be pretty sure you were going to receive your money back if you were lending it out?? Up your business sense bruh. White people are denied loans just the same... I don’t think I have ever seen a loan application ask if I was white... Jay is talking some real shit, but y’all stretching his verse into shit that has nothing to do with the topic.
If you like real rap check this artist out! This goes hard AF! You won't be disappointed foreal. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r-DnXw6tPV8.html
And he got so many rhymes. Always appropriate on the feature. Definitely a top talent, I think the Officer Ricky stuff never died for him took him a peg or two down. He is in my top 5 for sure
KING ON-O I was thinking the only reason he’s not respected the way he should be is because WE know he stole his name/story from ..... Only the Real know ... def top 15
@@MINK2393 Wins and Losses is probably his weakest. So many poor tracks, it's a hard listen from start to finish. I know you aint heard Dreams and Nightmares, the intro alone propels it to being the best album and has Meek rapping with the fire, passion and hunger he lost later on in his career.
Ross also get's the best features, I challenge anyone to show me any other artists that get's 10/10 bars from Andre 3000, Nas, Jay z and even a few with Scarface.

The samples are the main reason I love the album. Takes me back in time to a different feeling. When hip hop was hip hop. I'm not a Meek fan really. Not for any particular reason. His music just hasn't been on my radar like that but this album is dope. The title track "Championships" is my favorite track. That track is crazy, I can play it over and over.
Meek is displaying true artistry and growth as a man. I remember meek messing with homeless people and now he s using his struggles to grow as a man and artist, it shows. Thanks Meek 👏👏 so proud
Eleidy Breton teach kids to worship money and objectify women act like a tough guy on the internet show your guns make threats and go to jail then sprinkle a little Consciousness over it and it comes out smelling like roses this album is trash
@@NalanisLive well no. I think teaching kids or just being about that life, is all the way wrong. And I personally don't know this man, so there is no way for me to know if at his true core he is a good human being or a bad one but as someone who's life is currently falling apart and sees so much evil and pain i Choose to see/hope there is improvement and growth in him and i hope wisdom , kindness, and change for the better is sprinkled on him and onto all of us because it's so needed in a world with so much sorrow.
It was a perfect storm on that track. The energy, the timing, events happening in America, all that. Jay did go in on Light up and pound cake. So much on light up that he is experiencing exactly what he said. Drake didnt have a track like that or vibe of what's surrounding and the tone of Meeks album. Also drake hasn't touched on politics much or the state this country's in on certain topics. I think drake will be much appreciated when he finally does transcend how he can speak on relationships and women and everyday life.
He won't tho , the same reason why Michael Jordan didn't speak out on issues, just wants to look out for his image and brand and not to potentially alienate a part of his fan base
Then he said "enjoy your chains (jewelry/ slave chains), what's your employer name with the hair piece?" (Which ties back into bars about nare and hair)... 😱🤯
THIS ALBUM IS FIRE AND CAUSE OF ROSS RECENTLY STARTING OFF WITH BAD BOY AND JAY BEING BEHIND ROC NATION ITS GIVEN. ITS WAS EXPENSIVE BUT MECHANICALLY IT WORKED IN HIS FAVOR.. THERES ALOT OF MOVING PARTS ON THE JOB.
BBW Mal is very knowledgeable about hip-hop, as is Joe (duh) and Parks (duh). Rory is only like 14 years old, but has damn good taste in music. Great review fellas!
on that ross verse he said never Nobody favorite... i took that as a play with words...double negative...to say never nobody means..somebody??? thinking too hard or nah??
i love this podcast mainly because its really just beautiful to see multiple races come together and be happy and equal, as all men are. my hat is tipped to this
I love the production on this, I feel like meek was more paying homage to dope tracks than anything. Get away, whats beef and dead presidents re works were straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥
