Freestyle means a FREE VERSE that can go for anything, any beat. A freestyle is when you just spit what ever comes to you, with NO TOPIC. When ever you go and listen to a mixtape and the beat is not there's it's called a freestyle. Does that mean its off the head? NOPE.

Thats the main difference between Meek and most artists. He has the craft down and a passion for making music. He'll be on a jet, on a tourbus, at at sauna shit he was near a national monument in philadelphia recording himself freestyling. He has buku stuff for days man just look around. He actually freestyles better than he writes/rehearses. I can link u to every video i just mentioned and more. Give him some time man. Ppl gotta mature its artist development.
I feel you I know meek struggled and alot of ppl could relate,but I'm comparing first album Meek Mill to first album Kanye.. the shit meek is putting out today is mostly about the same things which means he probably won't last long and begin to fade away.. ofcourse you cant compare kanye and meek but my first argument was that meek is not great.. you asked what does a great rapper rap about and he talks about more than just his life.. he speaks on the whole generation not just one specific group
I can understand Kanye's music because I went to a decent school, but I can't relate because I feel it is extreme.. I can relate to Meek Mill because my father left when I was 12 and we didn't speak since. I also grew up in a poor, separated household with primarily females. I had no "family" xcept ppl I knew from the neighborhood. Both of my parents are from the projects, and made it out via miliary. Yet + still, I can't relate to privileged people. Hanging with the misfits is 'in my blood'.

Everyone shut up, you could write a free style it just won't me off the top! The only time you don't write a freestyle is when you're Eminem or when you vs some! So yea idk why people go so hard, just like when drake did.. Drake is a great artist one of the best, to me the best but that's to me, he is a great write and raps/sings from the heart! Actually the original definition of a freestyle was a verse with no specific relevance to a particular topic... hence a verse "free" of one topic. Later on it became colloquial for a verse that is thought up on the spot; In reality though, all verses they "freestyle" are just memorized verses... or memorized rhyme words that they put in lines on the spot.
i know a lot about music. That is how I know spitting a written to a different beat than the one originally intended is not that hard. 1. because i've seen others do it before 2. because i've tried it before. like I said, you aren't smart. especially if you think that this specific activity is hard in any way, shape, or form.

the definition of freestyle has changed over time. It really depends on where you from and their definition. Now a freestyle is more like something that the artist hasnt released yet or something that didnt make the cut for a album or something. its not just off the top of your head now days.

Freestyling is often recycled raps..that just come out off nowhere. they keep them recycled until a beat or song comes to lay it down on..then you perfect and advance yo words to fit the track.....haters wat can you do....

Freestyles on a phone are freestyles because they weren't written to that beat. So they are freestyles because they are free of styles and fit whatever the artist wants it to.
