Nice Video bro. A racing wheel means more grip, so we can carve deeper and safer without worrying about loosing grip and say goodbye to slides. Love to see your deep carves!
Hey Freddy nice video nice honest review, I tend to agree the culprit he would be the width of the tyres…. they’re far too wide and they can’t limit you on the edge to edge carve… free sample my BiBuff board carbon with the 8 inch wheels calves like crazy because they’re only a fraction under 2 inches of width… keep up the great reviews Freddy awesome carving awesome photography … epic location that car park on the harbour the pier beautiful stuff ;) cheers Andrew ⚔️
what you want to do is, get the belt on the motor pulley first, then spin the wheel to let the pulley pull the rest of the belt onto it. just like you'd do a bike chain. you get the first 3rd of it around the wheel pulley, and just give it a spin. great video as always man. flatter contact patch tires always feel rougher as more psi is pushing against the ground. vs a round profile tire that will squish down more and deform under rougher terrain. oh and just flip the valve stem to point to the outside. then just use an extender to pump it up.
Great video. With all that new information I think I'll stick with my Onsra 8" Off road wheels for now, I don't have an issue with feeling like I'm not in control with them. Just waiting until some one comes up with a better flat bottom tire like car tires.
Have you gotten any flats on the Hurricane from the original vs. these? I keep reading that the pneumatics are prone to getting flats and I don't want to spend $250+ on tires that just go flat after a couple rides
A way I got past the installation issue or annoyance, was to take the hub off the wheel, install the hub and belt, tensioning the belt and locking the motors in place. Then flipping the board over, lining up the the wheel to the hub, turn the wheel (you'll have easier access to the bolts) to screw in the individual bolts as you turn the wheel
Damn, if only they were compatible with MBS Matrix trucks, I need those for my big boutique board(/t) 😏Those are beautiful, thanks for the honest review. I completely agree with you about feeling the road and stuff (with some 8" MBS you can't feel s***), urethane ftw !
@@V1NC3J For more thant twice the price unfortunately and getting a set of those crazy expensive requested bearings would cost me as much in the end. Thanks for the tip and brand manufacturers though.
Which would you recommend Meepo Cyclone 165 tubeless, racing wheel, or AT set for the hurricane. And if you had a rating what would it be for value per dollar for each wheel.
when it comes to wheels/setups, its VERY subjective.. i dont like big wheels. both AT and street. will i still ride em? sure. but i prefer smaller tires/wheels. i havent ridden the tubeless yet. but we have em… my favorite AT are 150mm/6” Hota. i have a video on them too
yes. in my hota video i posted the screen shot and my discount code. seems like Onsra is the only one workin with them. thats why i want all my subs to reach out to watever company they have a relationship with and demand the Hota 150mm… rideonsra.com .. not sure if they sold out again, but after my Hota AT video, they sold out in a few days. so def pre order IF there not in stock.. my discount code is Esk8unity
My hurricane twitches when I hold the brake when I’m stopped (about 1 twitch/ pulse every 3 seconds). I sent a video to Meepo and they said it was normal. Doesn’t anyone else’s board do this?
Really nice product, .... but be aware, that meepo is not selling tires and tubes as spare parts :-/ They expect you to buy the complete wheels again. I've had quite some discussion with them.
@@teamalexfam170 andddd any pullies. wen i did top speed with board bumper 29T /120 cloudwheels, i thought the power was gunna suck… NOPE! lol. plenty of power off the line.. between this and the hadean, there soooo well rounded with performance… lets see if the zeus pro is there now 🤐
Watched it a few times! What I’m getting from this vid is that they are good tires but the hota 150mm are more comfortable and give you better control. Is this correct? Would you prefer the hota 150mm over these racing cyclones? I’m going to purchase one or the other today. Edit: BTW I have the Hurricane as well.
@@esk8unity Awesome! I will be ordering those today and thanks for the discount code! These would be to go to wheels that you recommend over anything else right now correct?
To be fair the Kaly is a completely different construction in terms of suspension, gear drive and many other features. Support should be much better than the Chinese companies.
coming from china or not, “better” is a preference. but the more expensive kaly is not better in its results of range and power. it also has less features. not sure why ppl think china is incapable of making quality products
@@esk8unity Yes but I have had very bad experiences with the Chinese companies in regards to support and communication. Also, the Kaly should have better quality overall and a much more sophisticated and expensive construction overall. Not a board for me but for the ones that value and like this type.
@@johnglover4318 i agree with u. iv had bad experiences with certain china brands too. but i also had GREAT experiences with them as well… some also have GREAT quality.. I also had bad customer service experience with kaly and i dont really consider it being good quality.. very clunky and making strange noises from inside the motor. the giant hump in the middle and the side ramps on the edges acting like concave just to help support placement for the rider. i think some of my setups have better quality then a kaly to be honest..
