I love this so much. I got my license 2 years ago at 45, and all I want is to inspire other women my age to DO THE THING! Get your license! It was great to hear Alice’s story. Thank you both!
Nice video. It emphasises the joy of riding motorcycles alone or together very wel. Ik am 73 and I usually ride alone in Northern Europe from my home in The Netherlands. However sometimes I go out on short trips with some of my kids (2 boys and 2 girls) all motorcycle riders.
Stumbled onto your channel and your brief but frank chat with Alice. I love the scramblers although I don’t own one. I have an Indian chieftain limited (113000km) and just bought a Pan Am (21000km) 3rd hand, oh an inherited Kawasaki 250cc intruder (from the guy who bought my 1200 iron sportster). Oh and I live in Australia but one thing Alice said resonated with me and it’s once I go riding I won’t to go further. Love long road trips, daylight to dawn & maybe a little beyond too, that just what I do. Also it calm the noise, I zone. Into riding that is and zone out almost everything else except my daughter and granddaughter. Oh and I’m about your ages too, 55. And been riding for 10yrs licences for 8, after my business partner and his partner both got killed in a bike accident. She survived him only for a few hours, I think of them too when I’m riding. I’m 5mths post open heart surgery too from a valve replacement that I’m lucky to have survived, there’s a lot of noise to block out. Thank you to you and Alice for sharing. I’ve subscribed and will do a bit of a binge of your earlier vlogs. 🙏 & thank you again.
This channel… I can’t stop watching the videos. Dan is it? My boy BugMoto… you WILL live your dream of traveling west coast to east coast. Find support on RU-vid for places to crash along the way, maybe record short rides with the community you’ve created and have more interviews! Such a wonderful video. I can’t wait for my 2018 Bonnie T120 to show up here on Labor Day. Keep up with the amazing content!!! ❤
What a wonderfully refreshing lass Alice is, I wish my wife would want to learn to ride, as I know she would love it if she only gave herself the chance. Enjoyed the video, thanks.
Very good interview. I like her spirit. I started riding friend’s bikes as a teen-ager back in the sixties. My bikes were/are late 70’s Honda CB350, 2004 Yamaha TW200, 2006 Kawasaki KLR650 (80,000 + miles! and still my all-time favorite) 2021 Honda CRF300 Rally (my little sweetheart), and now the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200xe: whoa, what a blast! Happy Trails!
Bug, love your videos! I’m a RU-vidr in The Dalles and I’m always looking for another rider to interview. You got lucky finding a gal that can tell a story.
Nice one! 48 here, I just got my motorcycle license and rode rented bikes for the first summer. Looking forward to convincing my wife that 1200 X will not kill me and get one for the next season.
Bug... what a great convo! Your content is fantastic and you have developed a unique style. Just awesome. How you found such an attractive, accomplished new technical rider on a 1200 Triumph carrying Kriega luggage who practices the craft is like finding a Unicorn at the end of the rainbow. Perhaps it's Alice from Wonderland... I gotta get to the PAC NW!!
OMG! Wonderful video Bug, you and Alice speak to me! I live in Vancouver and I am 71. I hurt my back in 2001 and live with back pain. However, when I ride my Z400, I don't feel the pain. Motorcycling for me is my prozac. Because of you, I rode on Sauvie's Island for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was a magical place to ride. Thank you for introducing Alice to us, the motorcycle community, and please do more of this series. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, insights, and your love of motorcycling. I always look forward to your next video. Ride safely!
Hey, it's always nice to see and hear so different angles of what passions us about motorcycling. I'm 38y newbie rider, purchased 125cc Yamaha YBR a month ago. I know long way ahead of me learning, practising, etc. - and that's the fun of it. Thank you for sharing such a stories in a so native way ... And on the question - as one of the other viewers has written - keep them coming ;). As you can imagine +1 subs ;) ... Best regards ;)
I just turned 50 this year. Been riding for 10 years, but only out about 10k miles on my naked bike. Just watched a couple clips. Seems like a good channel. Thanks for the content!
Give up riding? Not a chance! I am 68 and have ridden since I was 17. My wife rides a Spyder which is her third cycle ... only 11 years in the saddle ... DO NOT try to take her Spyder. Heck, I only have about 5 miles riding time on her's. Do not know when we will stop, but no time soon. Oh, car of choice would be a '68 or '69 Plymouth Road Runner with a 383 under the hood. Maybe when I too, am 85. 😊 Ned in SC
New rider here, and I've been following your channel for a different and much needed perspective of motorbike riding. I absolutely love this and would be interested in seeing other interviews in the future. Also, I'd love a great riding buddy some day. I'm not too keen on groups all the time unless they're smaller
I love the channel, nice stories! I grew up driving 84 RX7 and later on bought a 93 RX7 (still have it).I’ve always love Triumphs and I’m going onto my 5th with a good possibility a 900 Scrambler.
Great video. You too speak the same language and I can definitely relate. I just became a triumph owner myself. I bought a 2020 Bonneville T120 diamond edition, named Annabelle. Pure pleasure to ride. Stay safe, my friend.
This is a great video. I have been riding a long time. This brings it all back to me and reminds me how special it is. If it has wheels I am drawn to it. Glad to hear from others who echo many of my thoughts and feelings.
What a great conversation. Thanks for sharing it. Always nice to hear how riding affects a rider's life. Regarding the end of riding and what vehicle I'll want to replace my scooters and motorcycles.... I'm already thinking about that.
I met 2 old riders, one late 80 and his young mate in his 70, he said I’d will give up when he can’t physically get on the bike, when his wife died the last thing she said was keep riding as long as you can, they were both so together with balance and coordination, it was an inspiration to me and the others I was with at the cafe, so that is my outlook, keep doing what you love till you physically can’t.
So pleased i found your VL's. Love listening to you, Nice to hear from another female rider 🙂 I have a 883 Harley ( My Baby ) lol. With a few others for good measure. 🙂 Take care.
Great video, I really liked seeing you both talk about your experiences. I also love your cinematic camera views. I not the biggest fan of some of the distorted camera views you see on some channels. The content is great, but the fisheye thing can be distracting to me. That makes me appreciate your camera content even more. I also loved seeing the 1200 scrambler. It keeps me motivated to get the 1200 XE ;) thank you for sharing and keep up the great videos.
You keep saying click the subscribe button, but it only seems to work once for me, ha. What a great video. She reminds me of a girlfriend I had. Started her out on a Suzuki 250, she ended up on a Harley Sportster. Miss riding with her. For twisty roads If either of you get to NH you must ride the Mount Washington Auto Road. Shameless plug, I just posted that video. I say in the video I would never do it again, but it's like the Tail Of The Dragon, it calls you back. And from what Alice said in your video, you have to do it in reverse because you have to come down sometime. Although I have heard of people hiring someone to truck their bike down. I love your style of video making. Jealous actually. Glad the algorithm brought us together. Thank you.
I'd love to do Mount Washington. I'm from MA originally, and lived in NH for a bit back in my younger days. Never made it up there. Maybe one of these times I come back to visit I'll rent a bike and head on up there. Your video is beautiful. Makes me wanna go right now!
@@BugMotoChannel Very kind of you. Thank you. When you go, I hope you stay at Alpine Garden Campground & Winery. Tent, or cabins or pods, and wine tasting with cheese and crackers, it's a slice of heaven.
The smells!! I always rave to non riders how smells are x10 stronger for what ever reason while riding.. Grass, trees, animals in fields, you can smell everything..
I've owned three Triumphs, no scramblers yet... Met plenty of people like Alice, a treat for sure. I rode with a guy in his 80's, no chill and a talented rider. Don't set limitations to riding, try everything.
Wait… you’re “about her age” and you’re talking about being an older rider? 😂. She and I have one thing in common. I started riding late, too. Got my first bike at 65. Rode that for 3 years then got this one, a DR650 in 2020. I just crossed 30k miles on it. I live in an urban area, but always head for the mountains and the unpaved forest roads there. My nav app is set for “most curvy” and I spend a lot of time directing it onto smaller and smaller roads. After 35 years of riding off road bicycles, a Dualsport just made sense. And the 46 year old woman who got me into it agreed. She was new to it, as well. Ok. Enough RU-vid. Time to ride. Great interview.
I got all three Triumph Scramblers, a 1200XE, a 900SS, and the 400X… seems like I got a thing for Scramblers…. started on a Yamaha TDR250, which looked like a Scrambler… missing the two stroke smell a little but I always liked the right up handlebar and sitting up straight and the utility of it… btw… that 900 Street Scrambler is the one which ends up on the back of my pickup on vacations for both my wife and I… our Swiss Army knife bike… lol
I have Sciatica now and then and everything bothers it except driving a car and riding a bike- both with the sport bike (tucked in and leaning over the handlebars) and on the touring bike (like sitting on a couch) I am pain free and could spend hours just being gone.... Sanctuary!
I'm doing a video soon about scooters, and how they can be a good alternative for folks who feel they might be too old for a heavier, more powerful motorcycle... I have a Vespa GTS that I love...
Hi from UK been rideing since I was 16 now 68 most off my rideing now is touring doing stuff when I was working and commuting to work I said I would do when retired will not stop until I feel I'm looseing skills or our controlling government stop me but worked 45 years for this so I niver miss a chance to ride and niver niver put off ride safe
You do not sound old, but you do sound wise to want to ride more, because the day will come when you cannot ride anymore. I am not there yet, but i know i am close. Its not just about age, its about health, but health deteriorates with age for most of us. Ride on, and watch out for the other guy !
