These are NASAs newest astronauts. While they aren't actually going to Mars yet, they're all in their early 30s and could expect a career of up to 20 years. Time-wise, that definitely puts them in the ballpark (late 2030s). I would expect at least some these faces to fly preliminary deep space missions (ie Deep Space Gateway/Deep Space Transport), and maybe even be on the first Mars missions.

Oh ok I see your problem Pete. You are not familiar with the US Military. Allow me to educate you. In the US military there are OFFICERS and ENLISTED. Officers are commissioned and Enlisted enlist. By Enlisted I mean a person who fills the E1 Through E9 grade. Private to Sergeant Major or Chief Petty officer. All of the military astronauts are OFFICERS. Many military people apply including enlisted but NASA only chooses officers. Knowledge won't hurt you.

Did you even read the bios? Jonny Kim was an enlisted Navy SEAL. But clearly your mind was already made in complaining about this. After all, how many enlisted servicepeople are going to have STEM undergraduate and graduate degrees? It's definitely possible, and nearly half or at least a third of them are civilians as well. A undergrad and graduate stem degree is the requirement along with 3 years of work experience in that field.
