Most 16-year-olds have their sights set on parties, hanging out in the malls, movies, and the open road with their shiny new driver's license in hand, but not Haley Taylor Schlitz. The then 16 years old had her eyes on a much more profound prize: a law degree. The Texas native was accepted into nine law school programs and said she wants to continue her educational journey in law to "help other students and fight for equity.” So, meet the trailblazing phenomenon who's redefining what's possible. About time the media started to let the nation and world we are more then entertainers, sports,politics. I must mention that MSNBC has many black women medical contributors from various areas of medicine. Then again we have been the backbone of our culture and communities ❤

Thank you, but I understand the frustration of being one of the first. Now at 76yrs I'm glad to see more of the young black women stepping up.My journey through the segregated educational system and how often I had to defend myself whenever I got the highest test score in chemistry, lab,math. I learned how to calculate what score to get so I wasn't challenged or having to retake a test.. Seems some things haven't changed 😕

I don’t mean to go to the left but on your documentation on the first black doctor, she’s labeled as African American when she’s American. On this documentation this young lady is black American but is African. I’m just wondering not harm attended.
