I love that our sisters and brothers are saying" I can live any where I want". The world isn't North America an Europe. I absolutely loved this conversation.
This was an excellent video! I truly enjoyed hearing everyone story. My husband and I currently live in Panama City and love it. We believe this is the country The Lord opened the door of opportunity for us to live. We’ve been here since March 1st and not going anywhere else except to visit lol 😂 We are still exploring the vast parts of Panama and just returned from my July 27th birthday trip in Rivera Pacifica near Coronado at the Buenaventura Hotel right on the beach 😅 It was amazing but hot! It was incredible driving passing by all the mountains, lush greenery, scenery, and yes we also got to see the beautiful rainbow! Wow Breathtaking! 😮😊
I first learned about expats in Panama when my aunt moved down there 15 years ago. Since then I have been watching the black American population grow there. Now I'm seriously considering going to Panama permanently. I live nature and animals, and am a successful black artist here in the states, and I know there is an art community there. So I'm getting pretty excited over the thought of being there. BLINGOS cracks me up!
I look forward to visiting Panama and Boquete is on my itinerary. Though I am a Gringo, not a Blingo, I was worried about moving to Panama and not having the diversity I have now in California. Not sure I would be allowed to participate in your group, but will definitely follow your posts/videos, so I can learn as much as possible and maybe meet up with some of you expats when I visit. So happy to hear your good experiences and love having lots of friends, and maybe share similar interests in following certain sports teams, and participating in certain activities like trying new foods/experiences, swimming, chair yoga, long easy walks, and non competitive pickleball. 😊 I am very interested in retiring in Panama within the next year or so, but will hopefully visit soon. I know Boquete is known for Spring-like temperatures year round, but is there a best time of year to visit for about 10-14 days? Thank you for answering in advance.😊Catherine
Hola! Thanks for watching. Even though our group is designed to serve Black, Expats in Panama, we do have others in the group as well. I don’t know what would be considered the best time to spend a couple of weeks in Boquete. Are you on Facebook?
I retired last year at 63, because of Arthritis pain. No disability benefits. It's tough to get help in Virginia. Anyway, my plan for this move to Pamama is within the next year. I like warm weather, so I want to go to the beach. But I will probably end up in Panama City because I'm born and raised in DC and need the city life. Either way, I'm going to be there soon.
My hubby and I watched this whole video and were so inspired by the community there. We're looking for tickets to visit Boquete, Coronado and David soon! We also love the community service at the school, the coffee farm, and entrepreneurship vibes in thr group! Thanks for sharing!
I plan on seeing you sometime in the future, I think that I hope to set up in David and Vacation in Costa Rica, perhaps the freedom we all seek. I'm sure I will be proud to call myself a Blingo.
Awe would love to find out more about relocating to Panama Im in CT near NYC need a winter without cold weather any pointers will love to hear from you folks !Thanks
Rhanda so happy to see u again maybe u going to see a lot of me soon am planning on joining u in Panama by God power Am Viola Albury that use to feed the homeless in south broward
Hi guys, you made my joy today. I didn't know of that strong black community in Boquete. I am coming in August and will be settling in David, God's willing. I have been in Dominican Republic for four years. I am looking for someone who knows about selling products through Amazon to teach me how to do it please. It calls the FBA. Looking forward meeting you.
Oh I love vid Charlotte! Yeah I love Boquete as well but the beach won! What great stories from our sisters and brothers there. Will visit again and will get the hook up from you for accommodation with ABNB celebrity Pam. I really loved shopping at the Native Flea Market not sure of the official name. Thanks for sharing .
Wow! I'm coming for an 8 day vist tomorrow to see if i love the look and feel of Panama, as i consider retiring there. I Wish i had seen this video earlier to reach out to someone in boquete to introduce me to some of the blingoes. It's great to know you're there.

Thank you for the video. Do hope I get to meet some of your ladies when I return to Boquete on holiday. I visited last year November after finalising the last process of my permanent visa. Take care
I'm watching 1 of your old videos so I don't know your status now. My name is Johnny Flemming I plan to visit Panama in November 2024 with an eye on David, Boquete, and Volcan area. Would love to touch base with you'll. I'm from Miami Florida but I don't want to move to another Miami if you know what I mean. Any tips or knowledge I can get of hidden gems would be great. But I must get boots on the ground to see for myself. I retire in January and I'm going somewhere far away from the US. Hope to hear from you.
See as much as you can. I don’t really focus on those areas with my tours. I stay closer to the city. But just come see as much as you can. Some areas that you think you want to live in, when you get here, you might not feel it.
Thank you for sharing the video, I am considering Panama for retirement. I listened very closely to all the testimonies in the video. I subscribed and will follow you to learn more. The Boquete area looks and sounds like somewhere I would like to live, but will visit other areas as well before making that decision. I noticed in the video the majority of Blingos were female, not that it's a bad thing, just want to know there are men in the area to inter act with. I am a tennis player and would like to know that there are other tennis players in the area. Please lets keep in touch........tired of the U.S.
Took a trip to Boqutte last year. Beautiful area, did a farm tour that was amazing. Was considering a move but Boquette can be a problem for expats that need quick access to a hospital - and schooling for kids had less options than areas like Coronado, Panama Pacifico or the city. Lived Boquette though, we will be back for visits for sure.
Loved the video! I would like to say 2 things. 1) you better pronounce that "ñ" correctly. I don't know who was it who said "cumpleanos." A very literal translation of the word is "marking of anuses." The word "ano" in Spanish is anus. Lol. A tip I give my non-Romance language speakers is to add an "ee." Try saying it as "cumplea-nee-os." It will help you a lot. And yes, "birthday" in Spanish is "marking of years." If you say it fast enough, you'll get a very similar sound, and you will save yourself embarrassment when congratulating Spanish speakers on their b-day. 2) as a white Latina living the US, I too want to escape racism even though I have white privilege. I can't deal with it here, and don't want to live in another place that has it. There's another channel I watch every now and then called VGIRL TV, of a NYC-raised Jamaican woman who lives in Panama City. She said on a video that she would never live in Boquete because she had an unpleasant experience with a (bleeped text) white American dude wearing a red MAGA hat. What have been your experiences with this? When I was looking into Costa Rica, I was told that many Americans bring their racism to the country, and think of themselves as better than the locals.... and behave accordingly. Have you seen any of this? I know that white Americans were SO racist during the construction of the Canal that they instituted a 2 tiers payment system: the gold roll, and the silver roll. Whites, mostly Americans, were paid in gold. The rest, especially Black Caribbeans who came to work on the construction proper, were paid in silver. People could make the same amount of money, but the Americans couldn't resist discriminating by using a different denomination for payment. Ugh!
@@kevinthomas2470 Oh OK. I was just curious, because we make EVERY place a happening place! It’s not as if Atlanta has had a shortage of Black people, which is definitely the case with Boquete. Thanks
@@BlackExpatsinPanama thank you. I saw that when I was visiting, but didn't know that. Next time i am in town will make it a point to visit. I just missed your get together by one day. Had been in Boquete 1-7 June. 🙁Back in P.C. now
