2014-05-13 - As a young boy growing up on a farm in Southern Ontario, Jeremy Hansen turned his tree house into a spaceship. At the age of 12, he joined the Air Cadets and later became a CF-18 fighter pilot. A modern-day explorer, Jeremy has lived in underground caves, did geological training expeditions in the High Arctic and just generally craves adventure.
On May 13, 2009, he was recruited by the Canadian Space Agency as one of two new astronauts after a year-long process. Get to know Jeremy better with this video profile produced on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of his recruitment.

I’m a resident of Ingersoll and we are all so proud to see Jeremy heading to space! My daughter has the same dream, to reach space one day. Way to go Jeremy! All of us in Ingersoll!

I've read Mr. Hadfields book and it is unbelievable everything our Canadian astronauts go through training and they may never even make it into orbit. I hope Jeremy can make it there and back safely one day.

TechiPhoneGames its way more than that. to train to be a pilot in the RCAF u need to commit at least 7 years right there

i know but the minimum is 3 years.depending on what you want to do.

no its 2 months of service to every 1 month of education the forces provide u with. but for pilot training its 7 years minimum

I’m hoping he has had the diversity training forced on military members,nothing like woken propaganda to go far in today’s military. And standards ARE lower today.
