Harriet is planning to go to university to study to become a paramedic.
She talks here about work experience she carried out at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington working with patients. She assisted nurses and healthcare workers by feeding and talking to patients as well as taking some readings such as blood pressure and temperature. She found the work emotionally and physically demanding but was also even more sure that this was the sector she wants to work in.
This was during one of the second wave of Covid-19 restrictions so her work experience and that of her fellow students was a great help to the NHS.
The work experience was also a great help to Harriet as she got a great insight into what her future career would involve, and she was convinced she had made the right choice.
