Can't say anything about cancer but there is no tooth decay because they constantly lose and regrow their teeth, so there is no time to develop any sort of decay. They just shed that tooth and grow a new one 😆
@HeartistMurali
@HeartistMurali 6 месяцев назад
Crocodiles don't get that because they get new teeth all the time.
@strast1572
@strast1572 6 месяцев назад
@@kakereiSlight correction: Tooth decay comes from certain strains of bacteria within many (but not all) people's mouths - although said bacteria does feed primarily on sugar, and then releases acidic byproducts that erode and eat through the protective enamel and eventually the tooth, causing that decay. That's why plaque build ups are alarming, since plaque is just a collection of bacteria concentrated in a single area, many of which are excreting that acidic tooth-destroying byproduct in that single spot en mass. Frequent brushing prevents the build ups and slows (but does not eliminate) decay, but over brushing can actually worsen the damage by removing the protective enamel and making one more vulnerable to the bacterial byproducts. Fun fact: It's actually pretty rare that anyone's actually born with the bacteria. Most people just receive the tooth decay-causing bacteria early from their parents or interactions with others, like sharing utensils, blowing on food to cool it, sharing water bottles, kissing, etc. That's also why if you see someone with a cavity-ridden mouth that you should be careful about kissing or sharing with them! They may have a particularly aggressive strain of decay-causing bacteria that you could absolutely catch by interacting with them. Fortunately, the gater doesn't seem to be frequenting tinder and swapping spit often, nor eating many sugars to feed them like you pointed out - lucky guy.

@brandenmarcum430
@brandenmarcum430 6 месяцев назад
Crocodiles are like lobsters in the sense that they are practically immortal. In fact, the only reason they would die is if they were genetically flawed, such as a cancer mutation or a virus or disease. Bacteria, getting killed by people or another animal. If a crocodile was fully healthy, and hypothetically never came into contact with any threat(virus, bacteria, genetic mutations, other creatures, natural disasters, lack of proper nutrition), then it could theoretically live forever. Humans get frail and wrinkly and weak as they age. But there’s no such differences between a 7 year old crocodile and a 70 year old crocodile. The only reason an old crocodile dies is because something bad happened to it.

Fun Fact: Crocodiles experience something called "Biologically Immortality." they will continue to grow without seeming as though they've aged until they either, can't sustain the energy it takes to maintain their body anymore or they are killed by an outside source/illness. With Steve in the shot ...you really get the scale of Henry's size that you normally don't get.

Wow! That's amazing! My grandmother was born in 1903 and passed away in 2003. It's amazing how some creatures can outlive humans?
