Meet Mazda MX 30 R EV  

It would be great if a battery upgrade industry developed in parallel with the transition to BEV. Those intending to own this R-EV for 10+ years could hypothetically replace the 17kWh battery with a higher capacity in the same space. In any case, I chose the R-EV now, knowing that 9 out 10 of my usual trips will be EV-only and for longer trips I will be able to pick between charging or re-fuelling.

They quote 282mpg. How? 453 miles on a full electric motor charge + a 50 litres of petrol. 50 litres is 11 UK gallons so 459 miles/ 11 = 42mpg!!! It’s worse than their standard petrol engine therefore.

prefer the look of the mazda cx50 but some reason they wont bring it to the UK

Can you use E10 fuel for a rotary engine or is only E5 fuel allowed for a rotary engine?

When can we see a review of the car and not just a presentation or announcement of a car, we already know as the mx30-ev. We aren't interested in that. We want the mazda mx30 R-ev and we want to see it can actually drive.

Is there an "odometer" of miles or hours of engine use, separate from the regular odometer? For some drivers, 12000 miles on the odometer may be all or almost all pure battery, and the engine may not have run more than a small percentage. For other drivers, say, who end up almost never plugging in, the whole 12000 miles driven would be also running the engine. It would seem like the former would need fewer oil changes and other engine maintenance than the latter. For the former type, does the car remind you (or force you) to run the engine a certain amount, as in at least ten minutes every two week or whatever the engineers have determined it needs to keep it lubricated or whatever? I know standard advice is to drive a car a little bit every so often if it's going to be garaged for months and I would think the same applies here.

No me gusta el sistema de las puertas traseras pero más allá de esto es un auto único. Los Nissan e-Power funcionan igual pero tienen una batería ridículamente pequeña y no son enchufables por eso son poco eficientes. Ojalá este Mazda llegue pronto a la Argentina donde la infraestructura de electrolineras es nula

The all electric mx 30 had a pretty disapointing electric range so they have made this with less than half the electric range,oops now if they still had the 100 mile electric range with this system , success...what ev car makers seem to have forgotten is charging at home is the cheap to run and convenient bit, now i know people will say ,what if you cant charge at home, simple dont get an ev.

And, what about the gas consumption? How many liters/100km?

What kind of sound will that rotary generator exude, can driver hear it while driving?

It's such a shame this is not a self-charging hybrid like the Toyota corrola and the new Honda Civic, if you have a driveway you will buy a fully electric vehicle, like me if you have nowhere to charge at your home and have to rely on public chargers this car will make no sense, a shame because it would have been at the top of my list for my next car I currently have the Mazda 3 e skyactiv x now that is a fantastic car, if this car had that engine with self-charging capability Mazda would have a sure-fire winner on its hands, this car with the rotary engine running most of the time will not be as economical as my current car so there is no point in it for me or the other 40% of people with no off-street parking.
