Mezkalin is somebody who inspires me not for his creative technical or engineering knowledge, it's more about how he is able to "synthesize" his lifelong passions into making beautiful looking gear that is accessible, even for those who don't know much about the science of this niche.
As someone who is an infant in this niche it is amazing and inspiring to see masters at this craft documenting their work and their processes. Thank you for sharing!
Yovozol, can't express it in words..❣️❣️❣️ 🙏thank U so much for this great, super professional video, U did such a great work and U caught everything, what we need to know about Mezkalin. Thanks for your time and many hours U put into this video👏👏👏 even our lovely animals were caught in a perfect moment 😻🐰🐇🐓❤❤ Have a great time back home in Amsterdam,🎉🎉🎉
So inspirational. Reminds me that i have several units sitting around to bend. I found 2 of those sima video ed/it units (the ones that have all the weird digital switching stuff with different colors and shapes) in one day at two separate thrift shops. i hear that you can get really interesting shapes if you fuck with the digital components which sounds awesome because im only just now getting into the swing of things with introducing a computer to this whole weird equastion. I would be really interested in seeing some sort of analog/resolume system "begginner" guide. I know you have some content similar to this, but im speaking more from a technique perspective, basic little ideas and such. Anyways, this is super well made. I find it really cool that you can balance all these shows and projects, with practicing and making such thought out content. I look forward to watching regardless of what you are doing. Just great expression of a great mind. Thanks for the great upload.
Great work. Particularly enjoyed the glitch mix of different Mez boxes across the interview. Next: Freedom Enterprises, Strange Loop and Lo-Fi Future please 😉😜
Had the pleasure of meeting Janes in a train station in Germany, he hand-delivered me a Synthwaver V2. Super solid and cool dude, super sick gear as well.
Loved the video, yovozol! Back in 2019, while I was on the hunt for an optiglitch on german ebay, I came across Janes, already sold, optiglitch. After a bit back and forth he offered to send me a Glitchard Gear (lol), one of his earlier builds. I took it and it was excellent! Still have it. Two years later I got a Rusty Joe and you definitely see he mastered his craft.
Thanks YOVOZOL for this great documentation!🎉 MEZKALIN gear is really excellent and I am so happy to own a Synthwaver V3 and a Heartbeat (maybe exactly the units you use in your video 😊). Video effects and paint jobs are awesome - and Janes is kind guy who answers messages quickly. Also availability is a big plus!❤
I am so inspired by this video! I own 2 Mezkalin devices and am thrilled to learn more about the creator. Thanks for all the wonderful glitch content you've created over the years! I've learned so much!
Got my first ever synth from him, that shit rocked my world. I remember sweating balls deep in my adidas shorts, while glitching my Mezkalin analog video synth and in the process i was getting comissioned by y2k american clothing brands. Truly incredible insight about his life sickkk
I've honestly been excited and waiting for this video since you originally posted that you were at Mezkalin's back in July! Thanks for sharing his story, and enjoyed the expressive editing & VFX over the interview as well.
what great video... loved so much this interview.... oh my heart, cant even express it properly, what a great conversation/interview, you have been motivating me to this as well a lot, and with this video, oh men... motivated me more and more, both of you are a reference to me
Thanks for making this video! Truly inspiring to see the journey of artists in this field, learning how and why they came to it, and what their dreams are.
This was great. Glitching the interview to show the effects worked great. Any details on what devices were used there? I just got my Lil' Rusty Joe delivered this week so this is good inspiration to get experimenting with it.
So cool that you moved to the Netherlands! I hope to move to Ireland eventually. Also great video, I appreciate all of your information and knowledge that you share for free.
Thanks for taking the time to make this. It feels like the first of its kind so im sure it will be a an "instant classic". Keep up the great work! also where did you end up moving?
I’ve found projection art is much more powerful than traditional street art… now using it to raise the money to get that level of projector or projectors if you use particularly touch designer with multiple projectors… mezkalin is a bad ass
Great stuff, well done! Reminds me of CUckoo interviewing Lindstrom ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GgIkX_EDFLA.html. Simply two geeks chatting about their passion!
Control voltavge proper defeated the disenchantment that comes along…when you use mixed modules, functional cv to just enlarge the gear….. hey Logan wazzup brother. It’s cortical We cannot be dependent on second hand gear and vactrols aren’t the answer for benders.
