Minor correction: Morph was loosely based on two minor X-Men characters in the comics. Morph, a d-list villain that didn't have shapeshifting powers and Changeling, a body double for Professor Xavier. Yes, he was an OC created for the series as a red shirt to be killed off, but got popular as the series went on and was later adapted to Marvel with a more fleshed out backstory and changes to his powers to distinguish from the character Mystique. Morp's appearance in the comics and in X-Men 97 is based on Changeling and Morph became a prominent character in Age of the Apocalypse and the time traveling team of mutant variants from across the multiverse, EXiles.

True, morph is a better shapeshifter, he can mimic powers as well. While mystique can only mimic appereance and but she's a better fighter

Morph is more powerful, sure, but Mystique is overwhelmingly more of a threat. She can sabotage and destabilize anything or anyone she sets her mind to, is far from hesitant to kill, and is absurdly more sneaky and convincing as the people she shifts into over Morph

@@jodiejoynt2737mystique can too, she imitated the energy scythe from the death angel of apocalypse and used it to attack him, the only difference between the two is he can alter his mass along with his appearance making him stronger, while mystique can hold her form for much longer, I'm talking years, she married a guy with a different form and her disguise was only blown off by the birth of nightcrawler, and she still hold her form while giving birth

The character debuted in the xmen in the 1960s and was called Changeling. You got the story completely wrong.

Because they were new to the team. They didn't know everything Wolverine could handle. Also the healing factor doesn't stop him from getting knocked out.

@@christianschoff2490Nah, they weren’t new. By that time, Morph had been on the team for a significant amount of time. They were just an original character to the show alone. So they seem like a new character to the audience, but not the characters. They’d also been friends with Logan for a long time. And the only one to make him laugh.

That’s not true. Morph was introduced in Volume 2 of Uncanny X men as Changeling. He was resurrected as Morph; and took Changeling,s original appearance. The name change was due to to legal rights

After the show ended, the comics adopted him, much like DC down with Harley Quinn. Marvel ran a mini-series in an alternate universe called “Age of Apocalypse” and included Morph. They kept the snarky personality but changed his base form into the white almost faceless look on the cartoon now. However, as a callback to the original cartoon, when Morph goes out in public, he looks as he did in the original show,
