Reminds me of a Larry Niven book I read a long time ago, I think it's called "A World Out of Time", it had animals that were basically furry snakes with cat heads. Or would that be long legless cats...? It was a rather weird book, even for Mr. Niven.
Those outside shots of EJ made me SCREAM oh my god she's so chonky. Sitting down in that chair, she looks like a typical mega-fluff cat, but seeing her walk around outside just killed me. 12/10 content EJ is perfect
You're walking in the woods There's no one around and your phone is dead Out of the corner of your eye you spot him: Sylvester LaBeouf. He's following you, about 30 feet back He gets down on all fours and breaks into a sprint He's gaining on you Sylvester LaBeouf
WTF?! What kind of a dog owner would ever do that to another animal AND encourage a very dangerous behaviour in their dog?? These are the kinds of dog owners that are the reason why I have to work with unstable and aggressive dogs D:< makes me so angryyyyy... grrr >:c *grumble* At least my pack of doggos are great with cats, especially kittens
Back when I still lived at my parents I would let my dog out to chase cats out of our yard. First of all cats should not free roam. We had lots of small birds living and nesting in our yard and cats are obviously doing them great harm. Eventually cats would avoid our house because they knew that they would become prey there themselves. My dog is of a breed that is build to chase small furry things so she loved it. Seriously, either keep your cat indoors or put it on a leash.
@@somekid7867 yes If your cat wants to do something that is potentially hazardous to it's health like going outside then it should be allowed outside despite the incredibly high risk.
People can be extremely ignorant. Thankfully, his parents seem to have understood and kept the other cats with their claws. Also thank God she doesn't have more issues, she seems pretty healthy but is probably terrified of the other cats since she can't protect herself even when play fighting.
Give me your shekels declawing is basically removing the last joint of the cats paws and as a result the cats crippled, can’t defend its self and is in pain every time it tries to jump
@@giga4052 declawing an aggressive cat usually only makes them more aggressive! Now instead of clawing, they'll hiss, scratch, and bite and do it more often since they don't have any protection via their claws. In the future i recommend cutting your cats claws instead! You can do it fairly easily yourself especially if you have a good relationship with your cat but groomers will also do it. Keeps them dull nubs so they wont hurt other cats by accident when playing and it's harder to mess up furniture. They also have claw covers u can buy on amazon to keep the tips dull. Keep an eye on your now-declawed kitties front paws, as he gets older he may develop problems with walking/jumping so if he looks like he's in any pain, bring him to a vet ASAP! Also try and find the source of your cats aggression, it's usually because they don't have their own space or are anxious due to another reason. Feliway is a plug in phermone dispenser that can help calm agitated cats, as well as cat nip toys can help exercise anxious cats and calm them down. DONT let him get overweight, it'll be worse for his paws.
Polka Dot is most likely not as friendly because declawed cats tend to be a lot more defensive since they don't have any means of protecting themselves without claws. All they have is their bite, and with no claws means they rely more on defensive behavior to both humans and other cats. You can tell how much Alex loves her, how she has a loving home environment and managed to make cat friends with Sylvester and EJ, but PLEASE DO NOT DE-CLAW YOUR CATS to everyone out there. Thank you for sharing your cats with us and I LOVE your videos Alex!!!!
Yes I understand. My cat is a verbally abusive old man with features of dimentia...i.e forgetting he just finished eating but bitching about his empty plate. I love him to death but he makes me feel like I do nothing right...btw he is also all gray
ALEX this week I'm house sitting for a friend, I'm gonna be alone in the woods with NINE CATS I'm so excited and I thought you'd appreciate it. One of them is called Mavis and she's all black and she's a rescueed inbred kitten so she has a dome head and I love her. (If you wanna see the innevitable spam of pictures of them throughout this next week my instagram is @codys.zoo
I always encourage people to not have outdoor cats. They have so many predators eagles, hawks, coyotes, mountain lions, dogs and humans. Not to mention they're responsible for causing some small animal species to go extinct due to their hunting habits. It's just safer to keep pets inside not to mention the stories I hear of people stealing animals, waiting for someone to put up a reward poster and then cashing in. Your cats are so adorable! I have 2 at the moment and both were stray rescues. Smokey my big grey cat is a love bug and so is Spooky a lil black cat who someone dumped on my grandpas property 2 winters ago. Uhhg! I hate it when people just dump animals, they're the lowest scum on earth. Anyway rant over, love all your content though!
... what if you dont live in murder zone. If I tried to keep my cats inside I'd have the spca knocking on my door complaining about animal abuse. I lock the cat flap when I need to brush my part Persian girl, and when she discovers that fact she screams her head off. Yet shes silent when I brush her.
I agree with you! My cat is an outdoor cat however, as that's simply how she was raised, and it would be really, really cruel of me to lock her inside and refuse to allow her out now that she's accustomed to spending the majority of her time outside.. Luckily for us, my area is relatively safe. The biggest birds around here are pigeons, and Jessie (That's her name!) regularly catches and brings them through two cat flaps (Somehow..) alive.. Idk why, she doesn't like killing them, just.. Bringing them to me. We don't have any coyotes or mountain lions either, since I live in England. My house is on a road, however, the road is a dead end.. So cars don't come up past our house that often, unless they want to get stuck, so little risk of her getting hit.. The biggest threat to Jessie are the foxes that actually grew up under our trampoline in our garden. They're big, but only tend to come around for food - They're actually pretty accustomed to humans, I've had one walk past me in the afternoon (Walked in on it rummaging through our neighbours trash..). Jessie has gotten into one fight with a fox before, but despite it being twice her size, she chased it off and it hasn't returned since - Only had a long, but luckily not deep scratch down her leg to show for it. Brave kitty! She may be small, but she doesn't take any other animals bull, cats or foxes haha. For any future cats I own though, I'm definitely considering raising them indoors, but a part of me still gets sad that they might never get to experience the wonderful outdoor world, as dangerous as it can be. :(
Awesome editing. And the pics of little you were adorable, you know that right? Cats don't give a darn about us for the most part, and yet we worship them. Mine have me trained, for sure!
Cats are super special. I have four myself, and have had about three others before them. Haven't met a cat yet who's personality is the same as another. You put in the effort to form that bond with them and weird little idiosyncrasies start to show themselves.
They're so cute! Sylvester reminds me of my cat minus the wanting to go outside part (she's terrified of everything). Also wouldn't shut up if she were a human lmao.
Dude I grew up with inside/outside cats too and now sprint after my cats when they get outside 😂 Body slam them to the ground so they don't get away lmao. My first cat also was a stray found outside and now that I'm 18 I can argue against letting them outside/declawing them with my parents. Watching this video reminds me of my childhood with cats and also the bad relationship with dogs 😂
Tuxedo cats are my favorite, how could anybody not want them!? Theyre so cute!!! They aren’t even a breed, but I’ve never met a tuxy colored cat that isn’t kind of high energy/goofy/quirky, so I just love them so much.
You should market your own books, tshirts, etc!!!! I love your videos! Send me a link if you have some! I love your cats and reptiles! You are a gifted speaker and you really know your stuff!
My brother's cat is exactly like EJ, and my cat Pinto acts like Sylvester and she's glued to me and really mischievous. It was cool to actually meet your cats, a nice change of subject. 😁
Your cats are nice ;) but mine are best ^^ Im sorry to hear grandma is declawed, I know its not ur fault and most of the people doing it do not really know what they are doing to their cat. Hopefully here in Switzerland it is forbidden by the law (cobsidered abuse). PLEASE TO EVERYONE READING THIS AND THINKING OF DECLAWING DO NOT EVER DO THAT. Thank u for ur videos even if sometimes I dont agree keep up the good work we need more yound people like you.
The reason why EJ will suddenly flip when demanding love is due to over stimulation. Likely part of her being over weight, she’s not exercising enough to get rid of the extra energy. So when you stimulate her by petting her, all that energy demands release. I have the same problem with my 16.5 lbs ragdoll 😅
My oldest was the same as your oldest. Super duper attituder. Surely because she had to deal with my abuse until I was old enough to respect her as her own being and not as just my play thing lol. She was my 1st birthday present and passed away this year at 21. RIP EBONY!
My cat is the tan version of EJ! I tell my mom not to feed her 10 treats at night. Yea, when it comes to cats, (I have 3, only one is fat) I make the rules.
I have a young wild and crazy tuxedo cat named Cherokee and an older fluffy fuzzy boy named Max who always tells me what he wants! Crazy how much EJ and silvester remind me of them!
My two cats are 1.) Chunky 20 pound calico. (We are working on her weight.) She only likes my sibling. She hates me and the world around her. Very food driven [about 10? Maybe?] 2.) Small, maybe 6 pound I have no clue what breed she is. She loves me and a few other people. Immortal. [18 years old]
I recommend a catio for Sylvester so he can sit outside safely! You can buy them or DIY one out of something like C&C grids. Also declawing causes a lot of longterm painful issues like arthritis, since it takes off their entire knuckle, so that might be why she's so grumpy.
If she's part Maine Coon, that weight is actually pretty standard. A friend of mine has a MC that's 25lbs. A lot of that rotund form is likely the thick layers of fur. They have a LOT of it, and it pads them out like crazy.
My cat was a discounted cat as well because it was kitten season so adult cats were on sale. He talks the loudest when everyone goes to sleep and it's quiet. Otherwise, he has a soft meow. He is a big male but is afraid of every sound like the blinds going up. I have a video of him on my page chasing the batman symbol 'cause he's a butthole with a high prey drive and caught two bats from the balcony (he's not allowed on the balcony in the evening anymore). Your older cat looks good for an old cat, healthy and happy.
