I can watch these beauties all day long… To see how they take care of and teach their offspring is just precious…♥️🐴♥️

Yes, they really look out for each other 🥰 Birk, The old horse has been taking care of my young ones for years. I don't know what I'll do the day he's not around anymore. It feels safe to introduce new young horses with Birk in the mix 👑

This is beautiful video… thank you so much for sharing and letting us come along for the ride and the drive in lovely Norway. The varied countryside is spectacular and of course the horses are an important part of it too. I find their colouring and the markings are so different especially their manes which stand up straight like a brush and the stripe throughout is a curious thing! Also the Midnight sun and long summer nights were a special treat to see. Thank you…sending Greetings from Canada.🇨🇦

Hello from Oregon. I loved your beautiful video and I’ve always loved Norwegian Fjord Horses. My Great Grandmother on my mom’s side came to the US from Jostedal Norway with her parents and her two brothers when she was in her late teens. When I was Born my dad wanted to name me Randi not knowing that was a popular girls name in Norway. She used to speak Norwegian to me when I was a baby and my mom said when I finally started talking I had a Norwegian accent.

Hi Randi! That's awesome, thanks for sharing the story. I think it's so cool that you had a Norwegian accent as a kid. Jostedal is a really beautiful place, I actually lived pretty close to there for a few years. The nature in western Norway is just stunning. Maybe your love for fjordhorses is in your genes too? 🤩

I'm so glad this channel popped up for me & that I clicked on it! I live in the U.S. in Oregon, & when I moved here to the country 8 years ago I right away noticed that on the highway into the city there was a huge barn & pastures with the sign "Fiels of Dreams---Norwegian Fjord Horses" Sometimes as I drove past I would see beautiful golden horses in the pastures or paddocks, but I could never see them up close. So now I have seen them and they are gorgeous! I had a horse when I was about 12---I've always been horse crazy but I didn't ever really get into riding them very much. But now I know what is in that beautiful barn I see so often & I will be enjoying your channel of majestic horses, starting with young Olaf! Thank you for sharing!

@@watrgrl2 Howdy yourself! I think this is the most beautiful place in the world---except maybe for Tuscany but too hot there! I haven't seen every place, of course, but every time I look at the green that surrounds me or even the ice storms---I feel like I've died and somehow got into heaven!

Herd dynamics are so fascinating. I appreciated how grandpa put himself between the yearling, and the three year-old, he really is protective. You are showing the right way to introduce the new equine into a herd❤️

This was such a beautiful video it made me teary with happiness. Every video I watch from you makes me want to get more Fjord horses, but as I already have 6 other horses I'll stick with the one I have. Most of my land is mountains too, and as I'm in the south of France the horses are outside all year, I think it does wonders for their physical condition.

I love the way you talk about and treat your horses. Keeping them in a wooded area like that would give people over here in germany a heart attack. 😂 But i can see the benefits. How do you deal with injuries in that terrain? I just bought my first own fjord mare a month ago (Feedt's Lindemann x Østerskov's Gulliver). I am hoping to breed her one day, so seeing your Tullen and his offspring is really great. Please keep up the videos! ❤

Thank you ❤️ Fjordhorses are fantastic horses ! Because my fjords grow up in the terrain, there are very few or no injuries. Have not had injuries last … five years or so (Last injury before that was a mare hurting her eye.) The grey one has grown up like this and has no injuries 😊 I dont keep my dressagehorses in wooden areas like this though, one grew up i Germany and one south in Sweden, and I guess they did not run free in the forrest as foals there 😂 The dressagehorses enjoy their summer in flatter areas 😊

Aww the yearling clacking, so cute ❤. Do you find the lack of darkness in summer has any effect on the horses? In a negative or positive way. Do you get more flies into the night maybe??
@Horsewise01
@Horsewise01 Месяц назад
I think the horses, much like us, really enjoy the bright northern summer nights very much. In the afternoon there is bugs, but late at night only a few. It doesnt seem to bother the horses late at night. I love trailriding at night in the summer, the birds sing and the light is beautiful 🥰

I’m just curious, did you save the sperm from your gray horse before gelding him? He’s just so magnificent, I wish he could breed more gray horses!
@Horsewise01
@Horsewise01 Месяц назад
He was not at the inspection and was not approved for breeding, so if he had offspring, they would not be approved or registered. But his sire, Birkelid Tullen, obviously can produce grey offspring. This year, he is breeding with a beautiful grey mare, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for another grey foal next summer. ❤

Wow, it’s a very strict system! Yes I hope you have good luck for another gray foal! Your horses are truly perfection
