This one is very different from my Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory and my Triumph Daytona 675R, but I bought it for three specific reasons, all of which I cover in this video. Watch to find out more! 😁
Sumos are about the experience and fun over speed. Definitely going to need to try off-road if you have never tried it, but on a smoother trail if you're putting q3s on it. Looking forward to more from both the wr and tuono.
Hey nightwolf! Appreciate your comment, and totally agree. It's all about the experience, smiles, and childish laughter this thing produces, obviously for different reasons than the childish laughter from the Tuono 😁 I could see myself on a trail at some point, and may even look into a second set of wheels for some dirt tires. We shall see.. Looking forward to sharing more content with you! Thank you for your support. 🙂
i have a wr250x been riding it for a year n a half and i love it def wanna get an upgrade but i think ill always keep it to go screw around on backroads and through neighborhoods
This wasn't meant to be a dig on the WR250X. It's a great bike! But, given the scope of my riding experience, what the roads are like here, and my perspective, it would make a great beginner bike from my perspective. That's definitely not a bad thing!
Thank you! I checked out your video on the 'Ring and liked the sound of the Leo as well! I wonder if my FMF header has something to do with the sound on my WR 🤔 How long have you had your WR?
Hey Chad! Congratulations for the new Bike 😍🎊 It's a good idea to get a beater bike. Perfect choice for that. I was also contemplating getting a KTM 390 ADV as a second bike - beater bike, by the end of this year.
Hey Satyen! Thank you! 😁 Exactly, it will be perfect for short little trips around town and being a hooligan 😜 The KTM ADV 390 would be a great second bike as well! I actually thought about a Duke 390 before I settled on the WR. I ended up deciding it was just a little too similar to my Tuono (naked street bike) and wanted something more different, and the WR checked that box. Hope things are going well for you, and that you're able to pick up your 390 sooner than later! 🙂
Thanks! I'm leaning more and more towards to WR. The only thing only me back now is the vibrations. Since you have to rev higher to get power, would you get more vibrations from riding it compared to say a DRZ400 or a KLX300?
I don't think the KLX300 would be that different since it's also relatively low displacement. That said, I didn't find that the WR was excessively buzzy if I was riding it normally. It was really only when very high in the rev range, close to redline that it would be noticeable. Super soft grips can also help. 🙂
@@ericweber1969 of course! I just haven’t ridden it much over the past year, only a couple hundred miles. The Tuono and Daytona have been getting all of my attention 😅
Thanks for the recommendation Jhonny! I actually did the Sportbike Fundamentals class at SoCal Supermoto back in 2015, but it is certainly time for a refresher 😁 Would you happen to know if they'll let you ride your own bike? I know Adams does open days once or twice a week so I may check that out as well!
Hi Sydadrian! I'm not sure exactly where they came from or what brand they are, as they came with the bike when I bought it, but I believe these are the mirrors, and they are mounted on Zeta hand guards: www.denniskirk.com/powermadd/star-series-fixed-and-fold-down-handguard-mirror-kit-34289.p397719.prd/397719.sku?gclid=Cj0KCQiAk4aOBhCTARIsAFWFP9E_lMnnGU_w7fxVwDBfXf1R8YUu-Xq0E8zj4u_BnssIhKqsLao4IkcaApvMEALw_wcB
That's about the same price the seller I bought mine from was asking. It needed tires so we met in the middle on the cost of those and made a deal. If the bike is in good shape and the miles are under 12k, that's a fair asking price in my opinion. The 250X is rare, super versatile, reliable, fun, and gets incredible gas mileage. If you think the price is high because of the dollar-to-horsepower ratio, I'd recommend looking for a different kind of bike.
Hey Patryk, appreciate the suggestion! If I recall correctly, they didn't introduce the WR250X until 2008. Was yours a supermoto too? I wasn't aware Yamaha made a from-the-factory supermoto version of the WR450?
I had to drive three hours to pick this one up. They are quite rare, and very reliable, so most people don't tend to list them for sale. Just keep looking! One will turn up eventually. 🙂 What area are you in?
Hi Dionisis! My understanding is that swapping wheels between a WR250X and a WR250R is pretty plug and play, with the exception being that the X front wheel won't clear the R fork guards, and that the kickstand for the R is too long for the X wheels. That said, if you have the X fork guards and kickstand installed, swapping the wheels is simple. I'm not an expert here, but I think this video may be helpful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mkHl6LqIlx0.html
Thank you! I just assumed premium since that is what all my other bikes have taken. She's been running great so far! 🙂 The previous owner must have removed the sticker from the tank. Can't find it anywhere!
@@maybeerainmaybeesnow Thank you! She's been great so far, but is definitely ready for a new clutch. I think the previous owner and I had the same goal of improving our wheelie skills on it 😅
Thanks Ed! I should look into schools. I know there are some pretty popular MX tracks around me, but I'll need another set of wheels first, or a fourth bike 😅 I know, I know, I just wanted to make the video as soon as I could! I'm looking at helmets on RevZilla as I type.. 👀
Chad, Chad, Chad....another bike 🤣, you're all over this bike thingy, all you need now is say a Honda GROM and you'll have all the different bike scenarios out there. Can't wait to see vid's of you 'backin' in' on the racetrack on this new toy😁. Brett 👌
Help me Brett, I think I may have a problem.. I don't have enough bikes 😂 A Grom would be fun, but I think there's only enough room for one slow bike in my garage 😅 We'll get there, and you can bet there will be footage when I have it figured out. Always appreciate your comments Brett, thanks for your support! 🙂
@@hiimchad please be very careful with the amount of bikes you end up obtaining......you do not want your 'other half' to get upset and get you to sell them all.....just saying🤣....i enjoy getting my 'fix' from your video's and information 👍
