Matthew Straw, our new Assistant Conductor, shares his love for music (and the Utah Symphony!) in this quick introductory video!
Straw’s appointment was made by now Music Director Emeritus Thierry Fischer following the recommendation of both an audition and interview panel comprised of Utah Symphony musicians and staff members.
“From the first downbeat of my audition I was impressed by the quality of music-making and the spirit this orchestra brings to every note they play. I'm thrilled to join the team and bring meaningful music to communities across the state of Utah!” says Straw, who begins his new position in September 2023.
