Pamyua (bum-yo-ah) is a musical group that has gained worldwide recognition. Founded by Inuit Yup'ik African American brothers Phillip Kilirnguq Blanchett and Steven Qacungatarli Blanchett, the group produces music with traditional Yup’ik and African-American elements to create what they call "Inuit Soul." They are also the group behind the theme song for the ‪@PBSKIDS‬ show, ‪@MollyofDenali‬. They hope to bring awareness to Alaska Native and Indigenous cultures by bringing their music and dancing to the mainstream media and around the world.

Been following them from the beginning. The Ruby kids were ecstatic in 2011 when one or two members came to town for Yukon River Inter Tribal Watershed Council meeting of 70 AK/CA village reps. The animal pantomime lessons in the gym were a hit. Ossie gave special advice to local Native youth dance member, son age 12 ,who just graduated with a History BA from a private college this summer. Thanks for the grace shown in the telling of the background story of this well deserved cultural modern treasure in Alaska. Greenland represents too and the guitar dude. Get their CDs, invite them to your cultural bashes and musical events. Liked seeing the photos with instruments while wee ones in Anchorage.

That theme song from Molly of Denali sounds way too similar to the Magic School Bus intro

Why doesn't Corinna get even 10 seconds devoted to her background? Or a last name?
