I just bought my square dot and was very excited to receive it in the mail. Now I’m trying to connect it to the app but only the older dot device is listed in the setup. Please… please don’t tell me a bought brand new technology and there is no connectivity function. Please tell me that I’m just doing something wrong.

I just bought one of these in your Black Friday sale. It's great, but the directions enclosed leave a LOT to be figured out. So, couple questions...First, the average function only works in Ch 2? So, I should use the air probe to measure the temp of the oven. First, set my oven to a certain temp and set the alarm of channel 2 to that temp also? Does the averaging function only start after the alarm temp has been reached? Or, it operated all the time, but I should wait 15 min AFTER the alarm temp has been reached to determine the average temp of that alarm point?

Is the second probe really the main difference between ChefAlarm and Square DOT? I am trying to decide which one better suits my needs and they seem more similar than different. Trying to determine the use case.

Square DOT does have a second probe but the thing that really sets it apart is the averaging function. Being able to press one button and calculate your oven or smokers average temperature is a feature that is unique to Square DOT.
