When the Bearded Vulture Captive Breeding Centre of Guadalentín welcomed their 10th chick at the end of March, a worldwide record was set as no other facility has ever managed to produce such a high number of captive-bred Bearded Vulture chicks in a single breeding season.
Today, Guadalentín produces the most chicks every year and specializes in adopting and raising chicks from other centres and zoos to enable natural rearing, allowing captive-bred Bearded Vultures to be a part of our reintroduction and restocking efforts. We at the Vulture Conservation Foundation currently manage Guadalentín following an agreement with the Junta de Andalucía.
