No mention of the Marked Men in the Divide? They've got a meat processing facility set up in the basement of one of the surviving buildings, full of human skeletons and gore.
I submitted to Bethesda the idea of adding Strange Meat and recipes using said meat. Also adding more gore-related decorations like the hanging meat bags, blood decals, those meat-shopping carts, Gourmand faction flags. It'd be nice if the Gourmands could return as a joinable faction.
It would be super cool if when you have the Cannibal perk, you could pull a special unarmed attack where you could pull a Mike Tyson on anyone. If they are part of a group, there is a chance to make them flee.
Interesting thing is that in Andale Jack mentions that someone said that someone has a kid and family in Rivet city, and the only known fatherless family there is Hargrave family. So here something to think about.
It's just as likely that said family is just *implied* to exist, because: It's Bothosdo; The engine used in Fallout 3 was 11 years old at the time of release; Basically the only time they used it to its full effectiveness was in Morrowind; And said engine clearly has issues with the number of entities that can exist.
I like how the wendigos include aspects of both the greed and cannibalism from their folklore origins Also like how some of their mental decline gives the appearance of a mutated prion disease
I figured it was radiation that made the wendigos but the idea of prion disease assuming human neural tissue is consumed would make sense as a contributing factor in the transformation
@@ryanbusch2885 considering they fight alongside ferals whenever present it wouldn't surprise me if they were considered an offshoot in the fallout canon
I’m sorry, but the Scoot-wendigo carrying “loose screws” is the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. Please tell me more of these characters have this inventory joke!
Honorable mention to all the protagonists that can become cannibals as well, as they can do anything from just have a quick snack, to take parts from people's bodies to save for later, to even being able to eat Ghouls and Super Mutants as well.
Maybe there is a specific gene that allows people to become wendigos. That could explain why they can only be found in Appalachia in fallout 76 because the people there all have similar ancestry that carries the gene.
I always thought it was a combo of FEV, mad cow disease, and the radiation. It's definitely something I hope is explained at some point cause it is kinda weird that it was only in Appalachia.
I think the wendigoes are some kind of offshoot of ghoul caused by excessive cannibalism and radiation. They're supposed to be beings with unending hunger yet they are often shown working with packs of ferals. You know how sentient ghouls are ignored by ferals? I think its the same thing here, they somehow recognize the wendigo as one of their own.
@@claytopolis Well that is what I mean not everyone has what it takes to become a ghoul and not everyone has what it takes to be a wendigo. So because they can only be found in Appalachia it is some genetic quirk only in that region that allows for it.
I always assumed it was basically just a super ghoul, maybe consuming flesh while becoming a ghoul or even consuming the flesh of a ghoul or someone with a ghoul gene fucks you up more than just becoming a ghoul, clearly there is a connection between ghouls and wendigo
That damn 'rolltide' whisper during the andale section nearly made me choke on my hot dog You can't do that shit to me, I was not expecting that at all
I'm suprised you never mentioned that the restaurant the white gloves operate is called the gourmand. it makes me wonder if there's some connection to the gourmands in 76.
I assumed they were and over time cannibalism wasn't as necessary to survive but was also not frowned upon and still done when fighting with other tribes. Since it wasn't necessary to survive it was easier to turn away from that lifestyle.
@@MillieBlackRose but if we're to assume the gourmands and white gloves come from the same group. how and when did they travel all the way to the Mojave?
The vault 22 dwellers might of been influenced by the pesticide it just doesn’t make sense for them to be cannibals switch how Zion has wild life and lots if plant life
In fairness, Zion was still recovering, so plant and animal life wouldn't be as abundant as it is during FNV just yet. It's possible they had no idea if the plants were poisonous or not too, but this is just speculation on my part.
Even if it's a one-off interaction or unmarked quest, I would love it. Meet a Family member out in the wastes or bar somewhere. He asks for help with caps/supplies, saying he's trying to get back to his "Family" in Arefu.
9:00 I think it should be noted that the Vault 22 survivors were likely influenced or sick or infected at that time and were going mad (mentions of coughing fits). I think their cannibalism was directly a result of all the biological horror that happened in their vault. Even Randall seems extremely shocked that the "jumpsuit people" actually ate their prisoners.
With all the laundry detergent around in fallout I’m surprised no one has started eating it to get an affect. My local jail had a problem with people smoking paper with raid or similar insecticides on it so I could see desperate people trying to use soap.
i had no idea that it was possible to get house to sign off on wiping out of the casinos.... andale freaked me out when i first saw it, the people were weird and i dont think i actually found out the truth behind it till a few visits later doing other stuff i would have to agree with you that the white gloves are the "best" even though the quest can be buggy its still pretty fun to do.
i was playing 76 today and visited the mountainside bed and breakfast. the last time i had been there was pre-wastelander update, so this was the first time ive ever seen the couple. i didnt notice juliette on my way in, but i saw hubert sitting at the bar. i did not hesitate, and blasted him with my UC gatling laser for the simple fact that his name was hubert. i finally saw juliette on my way out and said "i had to! his name was hubert!" to my screen as if it made any difference, and left. i feel a lot better about this random act of "violence" (killing someone named hubert should be considered merciful tbh) after finding out what they do😂
When I was playing 76, I got into the mine and while waiting there to jump into the shaft everyone started breaking out power armor and I had missed the memo
Ok I have some issues with The Family. Ein only became like them after a head injury showing The Family may just share a mental issue. I'd like to know if it is a true mental issue or a mutation. Either way The Family could very easily target raiders and slavers so as not to kill innocent people.
I remember back then when fallout 3 game of the year edition came out with all the DLC's i was maybe 12 when i bought it, RU-vid was just coming out, You can imagine my facial expressions when i discovered hidden things like Andale. I played all the fallout games except 76, My favourites are 1, 2, 3 and new Vegas, 4 was ok, i had no complaint since i had Codsworth, Dogmeat and Nick, But 1 will always hold a special place in my heart, where it all began.
You forgot about Cannibal Johnson from New Vegas, although it is worth mentioning that he may, or may NOT actually be a cannibal... He never gives the player a straight answer, but he is an Enclave Remnant, so...
The miners who are their friend. reminds me of a song called Timothy, they get trapped in and eat their friend and at the last second right after they are him they get freed.
I always thought that the ... uhm... "disturbed artist" who kills Raiders and uses their blood and body parts for his artworks is a cannibal as well. Alas - it seems he is not.
I wish they did have cannibals so I would have more variety of evil to take down beside raiders, children of Adam, super Mutants, BOS, and gunners. Anyways good video as always radking.
No idea which video to comment this on, or how else to send it but I found that uh, the Mothman Cultist leaders are called Wrathkings. And it really just makes me think of you every time I see one.
The thing that puzzles me is whether cannibalism in fallout is out of sheer desperation, or just the fact they’re sick. Like, other people survive without eating each other in the fallout universe.
Lmao, the scoot wendigo was the first one I ever encountered- I didn’t know they were in the game before that. Scared the absolute shit out of me I knocked my monitor over LMAO
Fallout 4 would have had a hard time fitting canabalism in. Or an easy time. The institute had learned how to grow artificial meat. They literally had machines that printed flesh onto synths.
I thought the title said cannabis, I was so confused for the first like 2 minutes. Probably cuz of my cannabis lol, I was like “do these creepy dudes know where the weed is? The munchies can’t be that bad..”
When that family cornered me in fallout 3 when you discover their butcher shack i shot the others , took our my combat knife and slowly hacked the father to pieces and found a nearvy spot that was in a trench shape and tossed them all in it as a shallow grave
Doesent fallout 4 have a meat factory run by dude who uses ghouls aka radiated humans as a incredient? Also nuka Worlds Packs mystery meat is also human since cannibal perk activates.
A real neat part about Andale is that the one boy in Rivet City lost his dad, and the residents of Andale mention eating somebody who had a boy there. Orphan-ated
