In high school I was on the wrestling team with a Robert Cox. During practice, one of the coaches looked like the cat who had swallowed the canary as he had just learned Robert's dad's name. While running a few laps, he loudly asked, "Robert, what did your grandparents say when your mom came home and told them, 'I love Harry Cox?'"
there is a famous navy captain who sailed to Antarctic in the 50's i believe it was the 50's. the one who said there is extra land there with good weather. I kid you not his name is Richard E. Byrd. Dickie Bird. you can look him up and see for yourself.
@@moistnugget4147 Daryl had one of my very favorite lines so far: "How's a fella get caught up in business like that?" (Referring to the ostrich incident)
As someone who grew up Mennonite, we had a lot of fun with the Dycks. Harry Dyck was the old favourite. No surprise that anyone with the last name Dyck wanted it pronounced "Dike". But of course then the hilarity just continued down a different path!
People familiar with German or Dutch know that Dyck (spelled dijk modern Dutch ... deich in German) actually means dike, so it makes sense. The changed the ij into a y.
@@The1980Philip I've long been trying to understand how to pronounce that famous Actor's name....Alan Tudyk - withouth insulting him and everyone else.
It's amazing that Anita Dyck is played by Sarah Wayne Callies, who played Lori Grimes in TWD! Such an amazing performance, and I didn't even recognize her.
I like to think as a grown man in his 30s, my sense of humor has evolved since I was a kid. Then I watched this episode and realized nope, hasn't changed.
Ran its course years ago, Shoresy is the soul now, Letter Kenny a husk. Katherine was never a good character and the actress must have sugged Jared Keeso to get cast
This is handsdown the funniest show I have ever seen. Some of the comedy is very much for Canadians. But as a South African I can still laugh at most of it. On account of it being funny.
Brilliant comedy, love Canadians,my son turned me onto Letterkenny ! Hoping for more. It covers every social occurrence and satirized it all and hilariously !
There's no way they get through many takes without laughing. Just saw a clip from season 9 and, it was hilarious, I can't wait for it to come out. The dycks weren't in it otherwise I would have said I can't wait for the ducks to come out.
Im from Texas. Married to a beautiful country girl in Ontario. She worked at a....farming depot. Had everything you could need. Alot of the boys and gals reminded me alot of these folks....even the mennonites. Like....spot on.
I love how Anita Dyck says "bad decisions" and looks right at Dary. That and the way she tells him to continue to call her "Mrs. Dyck" and insults him by saying "Men are talking, Daryl"... Did Anita Dyck sleep with Dary on her Gap Year?
Well considering Mr. and Mrs. Dyck are much older than Katie and Darryl, I would say the idea of any of them sleeping with each other is gross and weird. Too much "Step(insert relation) porn on Pornhub, son. Stick to bush parties.
I have no idea how they ever get a good take filming this show Can't imagine to many that don't have someone losing it, laughing their little Dycks off!
Men are talking Daryl. 😁😂🤣 that kills me everytime. I can't wait for tomorrow, Christmas day 2020, so I can binge watch the new season, it's the best present I could ask for. Well except for something involving Katy and Bonnie 😁 (How are ya now?).
i only gave this show a try a few months ago in a Trailer-Park-Boysless era, this'll do just fine! I'm already into season 9 and can't wait to give Shoresy a try
This appeard on my algorithm? I couldn't stop laughing, ty. I will be looking up this show, especially if Dycks are involved. Dycks with a Y 😇 Cheers 🍷 🤣
As awkward of a comment it is for me to make, this is the type of humor. Our world needs right now. Absolutely hilarious nasty yet clean on the verbiage communication. Thank you.❤
Idk what rock I've been under but I haven't laughed this hard in a long long time. I got covid and recently every breath is a full time job so the amusement is awesome
The irony of this is hilarious and if you think I’m lying then I’m dying but swear to god and on everything I love I’m from a small town in southern Indiana and I promise you that we have a Firmis and Aneda Dicks that live right here with us and I have always giggled about that not alone this lol, true story
@@realgregorydyck Wait the Dycks are REAL?! Oh Gregory.. if I am ever out the Canadian way you must delight me with Dyck tales over some sort of local brew, I assume yours is better than the U.S variety. And I am just assuming you are Canadian, too.
@@FrobergDK My family is Canadian, but I was born in the US. Mennonites don't have any versions of alcohol, so it would be whatever local stuff is on tap. As for the Dyck tales? Normally they are up front, average in length, but quite memorable.
