I served too: Navy, 99-03. Nobody was allowed to come out as lgbtq, but my A-school roommates were in a gay relationship. Everyone knew. Nobody cared. Including me. So knock it off with excuses to hate.

Has anyone told or even asked the trainees are they comfortable with this. Do they feel safe, would the MTI feel safe if the trainees knew? Have they considered the problems that may occur. They don't allow female MTIs in the Barracks by themselves with males, let alone at night. Does this MTI have to follow the same rules, which goes back do the trainees even know.
They are in a male body, if I saw him in the female barracks I would tell him to leave if he had no reason to be there. So there is that. Nothing to do with genitals that may or may not be there.

trans people are the reason recruitment is collapsing? Not the fact that a lot of the eligible young adults today are the kids of the Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who have severe PTSD and depression and no help from the government that they served?
So all the other instructors get no recognition, but they are calling this thing an inspiration and a beacon of hope. I call it "our country officially has a mental disorder". The rest of the world is watching this comedy show. America is a laughable at this point.
You realise many military forces permit trans folks to serve right? Netherlands, Uk, Canada, Israel, and others. Not really that shocking or a problem. Only problem for snowflakes.
I retired from the service recently and from my perspective, it has never been about serving with LGBTQ people. No one has ever cared about what your sexual orientation was. It's the ridiculous pronoun stuff and forced ideology being taught to people who cannot refuse to attend. This is not an elective in college, it's a quarterly or annual training event. Not a single person has been able to explain to me how the Equal Opportunity Program in the military (EO Program) fails to safeguard the LGBTQ community where this stuff is needed. In my opinion anyone who has the physical capacity to serve and meets all regulatory guidelines should be allowed to serve and the EO Program should be the end all for all of this.

Is sex ed only allowed to be relevant to keeping straight kids healthy? Roughly 3-7 students in 100 are queer. Do you seriously think the kids themselves won't discuss being queer with their peers? LGBT folks are a part of American society and I see no reason to hide them from the view of students. Just how I see it though
@@eliasziad7864 Because the US isn't at war. That's usually what happens in times of, well, "relative peace." If WW3 broke out, there would be surge of people signing up. What Russia is doing, is conscripting people to fight. That isn't right. Many men are leaving the country. Over 100,000 is not a small number.
I graduated from the 321st training squadron two weeks ago. I had the privilege of having technical sergeant Rodriguez as my dorm MTI and none of us even knew about this. We all loved him. He’s a great person & an amazing MTI. I respect him so much. I’ll never forget you Sergeant!

Also “you wouldn't survive boot camp” for those who don't know this us a way for people who don't know the military to say you couldn't survive the easiest part but what they never realize is boot camp is the hardest of your training. I'm not a soldier btw. Never server. Just knew people who did. I know this because I used to say that too

this man was my mti he was a great one. none of us even knew until the last week of training when someone googled it and word got around😭he had a beard and everything we never woulda guessed he was transgender. much respect to him tho, great mti

People with severe mental illness are usually banned from military service. But, for some reason, people with nearly a 50% self deletion rate are allowed in. Makes zero sense.

This is a terrible idea. If you are confused about your gender what confusion are you going to present to your airman. We need to desiveness and strength, not they, them,those pronouns.
Transgender is the highest denomination per-capita in the army. Maybe you should have respect for service members. Higher % of them serve than the bible thumpers.

If you make the military more masculine and harder to get into, the quality of your recruits would increase. It would drive competition…not equity. Equity doesn’t win wars.
