“It’s equivalent to a canvas and I use the car as a canvas to paint who I am as a person,” expressed Issa Salem, a car lover since the age of 8. His love for cars from a young age was heavily influenced by the rich car culture in Abu Dhabi, which is also home to some of the most novel collections, namely that of Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, which was a part of the Guinness World Records.
The car Issa owns now is a 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser. At first glance, it looks normal and unassuming, but Issa assures us, it is anything but.

Listening to Issas story and his vision was so relatable to the same way I view the car community here in Qatar. Such a humble gentleman. How we all grow and mature as individuals to learn and realize what we truly want out of these machines that we own. For people with money it’s very easy to deck out their ride and be a show stopper at the custom car show. But the real ones who prioritize practicality and convenience know very well what mods they really require and what they can do without. Kudos to the team at Motormag to come up with an inspiring video which I hope will reach the younger generation. Hope to see more tasteful mods in our countries and people choosing practicality over competition.

Your video really got my interest! I love Toyota SUV's. My particular Toyota is a 2002 Sequoia 2 WD that has 313,000 miles on it's 4.7 2UZ FE engine. The cylinder heads have never been removed and that is incredible milage for a factory engine. This engine does not have the VVT but I'm ok with that. It means less moving parts to go bad in my opinion. As most people know, keeping the oil changed regularly is the key to being able to last as long as it has. I expect to make it to 500,000 before I'm done with this engine and I am pretty aggressive as a driver too! This engine sees redline revving often and I keep my eyes on the oil pressure as well as the coolant temperature. Overheating any internal combustion engine does so much damage to it. First off the internal hardened metal parts can lose their strength and leave you with a poor running engine. The piston rings are hardened metal so what happens to them is loss of compression and oil retention goes out the window. I have been thinking of installing a few temperature sensors along with an Arduino controller programmed to shut down the engine if the temperature ever gets to a critical level. That set up would be a life saver for every car out there. I want to lower my Sequoia. So far I cut the coi springs about 1 3/4 inches and re assembled everything.it was too low but the ride was OK. I'm planning on fabricating my own coilovers. To gut out a stock front strut and weld on a spring stop ring that has about 4 inches of adjustable threads. I will be able to dial the height up or down just where I want it. Using replacement strut cartridges inside my struts will not be too difficult. Eventually I would love to twin turbo it along with a fresh engine.
