The police were really just doing their job to maintain law and order without any political views, but somehow they were labeled as pro-communist by the protesters and became one of the main target of the rioters' atrocities. This is caused by the weak government who was too gutless to own up to their actions and biased media who had mercilessly demonized the police and blindly beautified the rioters.

Because UK gave Hong kong back to China. HK wouldn't have this drastic outcome if UK didn't hand them back over. Therefore the UK isn't obligated to give citizenship to Hong Kong people. If they're that desperate canadian citizenship is the only alternative since it only takes 6 months to acquire PR. Given the circumstances Canada is the fastest route than applying to any other country.

They're LAW ENFORCEMENT officers, it's their duty to know the law and enforce it. They however, DO NOT have the right to take their own version of justice into their own hands.

This is completely at odds with history. Police and opposition have been violent to peaceful protesters in every example. Also, in most cases of nonviolent protest succeeding, it was partially due to the alternative being violence. MLK wouldn’t have been so successful without Malcolm x and the black panthers being the likely violent alternative, and race riots happening. The problem here is that the protest were originally peaceful and about the extradition, by now most of the protesters are there because of the reaction by the police.

He did have a pole, and a group attacking the police' colleague. I think the major problem is that riot police should have been trained to not be dumb enough to be alone on the streets knowing full well there's a protest, and become a target for some of the violent protesters. And it's funny how when protesters get beaten up excessively when it's sometimes unnecessary honestly, it's justified, but when riot police get attacked by a bunch of protesters they aimed to shoot for the chest.

It shows you are human. Despite different borders, colors, languages, etc we can still empathize with other people.

The answer is no. No country or government in the right mind would allow others to assault police officers. The police have been very patient with them. Yet, protesters are demanding more and more from them. They are literally playing with fire and expecting that nothing would go wrong. They are naive and stubborn to think that the government would give in.
