My latest Meet the Miniaturist features special guests Emma Waddell, interior designer and host of Best in Miniature and Charlotte Stokoe, producer of the London Dollshouse Festival in a return appearance. Emma talked about her role as judge at the Perfection in Miniatures Awards (PIMA) at the upcoming London Dollshouse Festival. The awards grant the highest honors to artists crafting some of the finest and most creative miniatures on the planet. We had a chat about what makes a really great miniature and what she will be looking for when she casts her vote for this distinction.
We also celebrating the 100th anniversary of Queen Mary's Dollshouse and Charlotte shared her extensive knowledge of this incredible structure while presenting beautiful images of some of the piece included in this miniature palace!
And finally, we had a discussion about the upcoming Royal Miniature Society's annual exhibition at Bankside Gallery in London. The show will include several several PIMA award entries and winners and marks the first time traditional dollhouse miniatures will be included in the show. We talked about the importance of traditional dollhouse miniatures and how they are making their mark in the fine art world.
