They are told how long they have to stay at work, what days they can work, what they can wear, sometimes who they have to entertain, and the biggest factor that makes them employees is their significance to the business. If a business depends on people to get customer (i.e, without strippers, people would not come to the club), that makes them employees. The only reason that dancers can easily file as independent contractors is because the IRS doesnt really care about them. They are not going to go out of their way to check to make sure their club(s) arent treating them like employees. Thats why whenever you hear about a stripper suing a club, they win. Because THEN the IRS pays attentions.

Im glad there are normal ppl out there drawing attention to this type of behavior.
