My concern is her release, shooting the ball from that low is going to be a problem at the next level. Clark has a much superior release point.

I kept watching early on looking for the release to change and improve. She does have great ball handling skills, but that quirky release will get exposed in the college game.

We will see. But I do think women's basketball is evolving just like men's. You can tell Clark's release time is much much quicker though. Curry said Clark's release time is identical to his.

Just like people thought there will be no one like Swoops, Turasi, Bird and Kelsey in college basketball, someone will come in and you'll forget about Clark and this person will Play both defence unlike Clark, and score more than Clark but she will not be compared to Clark because she'll come with her own personality

There are great players enrolling every year so I doubt it'll take 3 or 4 years for the next one. Hell LSU may already have two of them now, and USC looks to have one right now too.

Except for her low release she looks great and she will be undoubtably be a big star in college. But you missed the boat on why her ability translates to the next level by forgetting to mention her speed, quickness, and agility (the things that you mention are important too obviously). These attributes are extremely important in going to the next level in sports like basketball (except for maybe centers) and football. These things all stood out to me when watching the highlights. Otherwise, a good video and she looks exciting.

About to put down a super controversial opinion women’s basketball is incredibly more entertaining. Scratch that women basketball stars are incredibly more entertaining. I became a fan of basketball through NBA 2K men’s basketball the shit out of me. The skill levels are way too close to each other when you have a star and women’s basketball, it’s like a 25-year-old pro playing a bunch of AAU players it’s one of the most exciting things I’ve ever witnessed.

Not saying this girl isn't great. She's probably going to be a great college hooper. But if nobody else is calling her the next Caitlin Clark then why put her on such a high pedestal. Plus im sure there's still parts of her game we haven't seen that needs to be polished. Why don't we let college and espn scouts make their call on who is promising, and let Chavez's game speak for itself in a couple years before we start calling her the "next"

@OS1540 - nobody else is calling her that bc no one has seen her play. these girls dont get the real spotlight on them until they basically get to college. unless you follow the girl's high school game (which i doubt most people do). they just see a number next to a girl's name and "let college and espn scouts make their call on who is promising." ive watched aaliyah chavez since she started high school. you'll be hearing her name ALOT from lobo, ryan ruocco, peck, and the likes in 2025.

Here are Aaliyah's stats as a junior: 38p/10r/4a/3.5s on 50/40/93 shooting. Here are Caitlin's numbers as a senior 33p/8r/4a/2.5s (can't find shooting stats). Consider that Aaliyah will likely improve going forward and it is not crazy to think that she could be breaking the NCAA scoring record 5 years from now.

CC scored 41 points in the final four game against South Carolina last year. She was recruited by almost everyone. No one holds back the fastest horse in the race, that would be stupid. So are you saying the Power schools wouldn't be smart enough to let Caitlin be Caitlin. I'm not that impressed with the shooting of this player, definitely not a Kaitlyn Clark, and let's see what she does against bigger, mature, strong, athletic competition. She shoots from low to high, meaning she is weak! She will get stripped by better players. You would have been better off not comparing her to one of the best in the country.
