meet the NOOK GLOWLIGHT 🎀 (aka my secret to reading more books in 2024) 

I just bought this ereader for similar reasons to yours! Also I hate Amazon 😭 I understand it’s “cheaper” but that’s only because they’re playing dirty by selling lower than the actual price so BN and other bookstores can’t compete and get them to close their doors so they can have a book monopoly. And it’s working. ;(( I wish more people were aware of that.

It kinda looks exactly like kindle the same home page. I have a kindle oasis but I wish Apple would come out with an E-reader not a small iPad.

my kindle lasts multiple weeks (4-7) on a charge even with wifi on. also, all the menus that let you change how the book looks on the nook also exist on the kindle

I have a kindle paperwhite signature and I love it BUT I’m happy that you love this and that you feel like it was worth what you spent! Every ereader has its faults and flaws and ultimately you should have the thing you prefer most or else you won’t want to use it at all! That is also a super pretty color!

Nook for the win! I have the Glowlight plus and it’s still to this day my favorite e reader. It’s not perfect but it’s definitely underrated. Thank you for sharing!

Im an e-reader hoarder. Lol. I have multiple nooks and Kindles. I have one of the first glowlights that is waterproof and rosegold. I have been using Kindle more over the past few years. I love the ease of borrowing from my library or using kindle unlimited. But after watching your video i had to pull out my nook because I do miss it. Its definitely prettier than Kindles in my opinion ❤❤

I have a Kindle Oasis , Nook Simple Touch and this Nook Glowlight 4 pink edition also. I use my Pink Nook almost always over the other two. The size and the lightness of the device is great for long reading sessions ❤

the page turn buttons look SO convenient

I'm a Nook superfan lol and Im glad you made this video! I had the first Nook back in 2011(?) that was a paperwhite before the paperwhite. Then I got the Nook HD and HD 7 (my current one). The battery life has never been great but I think thats an ereader thing. The lag is interesting but hopefully not a huge issue. Amazon really edged out Barnes & Nobles and put the ereader on the map. Im loyal to the Nook so I have no comparisons and clearly very biased lol. Im glad you like!

Cute pink Nook GlowLight 4! Note: The limited edition Pearl Pink is only available in the standard 4 model. The "4e" is the lower-end model that doesn't have Night Mode warm light and only has 8 GB. You have a 4. I like Nook because I can drag and drop EPUBs easily and read ebooks for an hour for free inside the BN physical store. Oh, also you shouldn't need wi-fi for the dictionary. Try it out 😉

I've always had a Kindle because of the accessibility of the Kindle library regardless of where I am. Not sure if it's still the same but the Nook used to require you to have a US address for the books from B&N and since I'm rarely there, I opted for the Kindle.

I've only ever owned a Nook. It no longer updates but I still have it. I haven't bought another e-reader because I tend to read physical books. I am considering giving it another go, and keep seeing how pretty they are. I am tempted to get this!!!

I used to have a Nook but I ended up having it because when I did have it, it was so limited to Barnes and Noble, you had to have a US address and you can't really access the store which made me upset because manually adding everything I read was a little harder cause I was young haha 😂 I have a kindle now but I truly considered this one because of the buttons alone 😭😭

ohhh the physical buttons are selling me. Years ago I think the older Kindles used to have buttons to turn the pages, and that was my jam. I got the Paperwhite recently and I hate having to touch the screen in the right place to turn the page 😂 it's the little things

Nice review. I totally get that the aesthetic of the Nook just gives a much better experience for you. I am sticking to Amazon because it's the big industry leader but I don't like the boring black either. Most of my gadgets are boring black. It makes them so hard to find.

I got a kindle recently. Charged it last saturday, it's been exactly a week later and the battery it's at 70% 😁

I wish kindle would bring back page turn buttons like this nook. I have arthritis in my hands and I have to keep stretching and moving my hands to turn the page. Buttons should be an option. Dee

Kobo ftw! 😌 I have the Kobo Libra in white. It's perfect and also water resistent so bringing it to the beach or to a spa is not a problem. Love it and also the battery life lasts forever! And since I'm not in the US, Kobo is a better brand because you can actually loan books from the library. And I feel you with the aesthetic, I bought a "sleepcover" (so when you close it the e-reader goes to sleep automatically) and I've put stickers with cats etc on it so just a tip if you want to make it even more personalized :3 But why don't you want to see the book cover in the front? I really like it on mine anyways

I have the pink Nook too and love it. I did recently buy the Agave Green paperwhite and love that too

i dont think ive ever heard of this ereader, so glad i watched it, you covered all the important info!! it looks soooo pretty too love the lightness of the pink and the page turn buttons. the interface looks so much like kindle's even most of the features so i was pretty surprised abt that. it's def more aesthetically pleasing than the kindle though kasi the kindle has such huge bezels it's so ugly omg though i only got it for like 5.7k so i just have to deal with it LOL - the touchscreen lag is common for all ereaders im pretty sure !! it's not as smooth as a smartphone talaga, you'll def get used to it naman after sometime - my kindle usually lasts at least a week to two weeks (depending on how many hours i read daily) even with wifi on, maybe you can try turning airplane mode on if yours has it to see if it'll help with the battery life (it preserves mine a lot and can make it last up to a month) - the margins, line spacing, fonts, justification, etc. settings are also available in kindle :) i just have a few questions though, - does it sync to your goodreads acc? like your highlights and annotations and stuff - can you import your books to it wirelessly? or wired lang pwede :O for kindle we can just send the file to our kindle's email and it'll be imported na

Interesting! It’s super cute but the basic kindle has better battery and response than this and it’s almost half the cost 😮 but not gonna lie the white and pink is damn adorbs

My Kindle lasts for 6 weeks before I need to charge it. Bear in mind, its always in airplane mode with wifi turned off ( I mean theres no reason to keep the wifi on in the first place). Sana you went for Kindle Basic but thats just me😅

Typing and being "slow" it's the technology behind those screens, and the battery life probably is not the best because nook runs a android kinda OS, kindle and kobo runs linux based OS ( battery life is better in these 2 because of the optimization their OS systems have). Btw such gorgeous nook, welcome to the e-reader era~

Very cute lookin' Nook 😆I wish more e-readers had cuter colors and patterns. About the battery issue, eReaders tend to use up battery each time it writes something new to the screen. So things like having a clock, turning a page, etc will use up battery. If you read fast or all day, then it'll probably use up a lot of battery as opposed to leaving it alone for weeks. And as you've been told, having back/front light on too high, wifi, and bluetooth will also use up battery.

My Kindle’s battery needs recharging at least 4 weeks.

I support anyone who buys an ereader that isn't from amazon lol. I'm a Kobo girl myself

Im not sure if you realized but you don't need to keep the light on all the time. If you're in daylight, TURN IT OFF!

I would just suck it up and buy a kindle. The battery life on kindles are soo much better. I don’t have any issues with mine whatsoever. I live in Uk so we don’t have the white kindles. Only black and denim
