Meet The Plastics [Amphibia Animatic] 

What's a fandom without their run-of-the-mill Mean Girls animatic? I've gotten some confusion over the characters at the start, so I'd like to clarify that they are Maddie & Toadie's human designs from The Shut In episode.

My headcanon: this is a school play rehearsal! Sasha is getting super into it, she’s having an awesome time. Really getting into character, Marcy is just excited because she’s a theatre geek and knows all the words, she wants to show off to her friends- more ‘reciting’ then ‘acting’. Anne just showed up late and really wanted to be with her friends, and they needed someone who could sing (i.e. No Big Deal). She has never heard of Mean Girls and hasn’t even read the script yet- she’s just like “the frick is this?” the whole time XD. Does that make sense?

I can’t help but adore your decision to have the overly sexual dialogue be something that they read from the script with discomfort and don’t actually act out. These are kids after all. I feel so bad for Anne being stuck as the idiot when she’s so much more than that, but the other girls fit their roles so well it only makes for Anne to be Karen.

This fits so well and perfectly shows how toxic their relationship was pre-amphibia I love it

Anne went from “I may not be smart… that’s it” to “the person god wants to replace them”

pretty ironic considering marcy’s middle name is regina

I feel like this is something Marcy would get everyone to do at a sleep over

Tbh I thought Anne would be Gretchen becuz of the big hair and also being manipulated by sasha while marcy is kinda just there...but I meann i guess it works either way lol

This is really nicely done and fits the pre-Amphibia Trio surprisingly well. In retrospective it's kinda strange that the show had a typical "queen bee" (well, maybe not so typical but still) and her clique as sympatetic protagonists and it worked just fine.

What a cute little animation! I love how each girl's personality fits the Plastic's personality. Sasha's like Regina (before she was redeemed), always in power, wanted to be in control, forced her friends to do things her way and was a very toxic person. Marcy is like Gretchen, very smart, intelligent, pretty and cool. And finally, we have Anne, who's somewhat similar to Karen, sometimes cute, dimwitted, silly, funny and quirky. To be honest, I think Anne and Marcy should've swapped roles. Anne should've been Gretchen and Marcy should've been Karen. But what an adorable, clever, cool and quirky animation!

I had never noticed before how similar human!Polly looks to human!Apple Bloom. Huh. The power of a bow tie, I guess.

I saw this at a very late time sadly, but I enjoyed every moment of it! You really portrayed everyone here, as well as the girls' toxicity before they were sent to Amphibia. I don't think I've seen anyone else do something like that, so this is great! Round of applause for you animator!

I can not express the anger I feel when I hear the song end with the line “Come sit with us tomorrow, it’ll be fetch” FETCH?? Why not “fun”? IT RHYMES WITH “Belong”! Also, wonderful animatic! Your hard work payed off😃
