@MrDiddyDee
@MrDiddyDee 2 года назад
@@MrWoodhaven11421 Not likely they would have done much else if they'd have been given more time. They had already practised and selected the 'Let it be' songs that would work best as a rock line-up, and they had got the takes they needed. It's not likely they would have pulled out older material either, as the whole premise for the project was always intended to be brand new material, and they had already seemed to have discounted, (for purely practical reasons) performing the remaining songs they had for the album, (those on acoustic guitars or acoustic piano for example) They were happy enough to jam in the studio as they waited around or just to loosen up, but again I don't think at this stage, as it was so long since they'd played live together, that they would have risked doing anything unrehearsed. Apart from not being physically dragged away by the Police, it had also worked out just as Paul McCartney had hoped for, when the policemen arrive on the rooftop Paul looks over his shoulder and grins with delight, it gave them the ending they wanted. Also bear in mind this was in the UK wintertime on a breezy rooftop, they had probably all had enough and really glad to GET BACK into the warmth of the building.

What an unenviable position for Ray to be in, knowing he was being monitored by the crew, and trying to do his best. The part in the 'Get back' film where they're kept waiting in the reception area both young Police Officers are so uncomfortable, at times nervously chewing on their chin straps. Hats off to roadie Mal Evans, and the studio staff, for stalling the Police as long as they could or we would have had only half of the concert footage.

The police didn’t end the concert. It came to a natural end and they had already played all the numbers they needed to at least once. Dear Ray, you had a historic opportunity to be in the right place at the right time. I would give half a century of life for those half hours in 3 Savile Row

This was great, but it should also show at least a few seconds of footage of him from the movie, for comparison. At least there's the picture in the back.

...and 8yrs later Malcolm McClaren tried a similar stunt with The Pistols on the Thames..but ramped it up a gear, begging to be arrested..that's one of the problems of publicity..each time you have to turn it up a little higher..The Beatles could do it with swagger and charm...the world will never experience the likes of them again..and nobody got hurt..brilliant!!
