I think you are confused about the purpose of the court. It’s not advocacy for a particular group. It is to interpret the law and constitution. The ruling on immunity was based on the constitution. Think for a second without immunity any previous President could be prosecuted merely for revenge. I give example, Obama ordered the killing of an American citizen overseas. I think he was a son of Bin Laden. Now technically Obama could be charged with assassination of an American citizen. But the guy was a terrorist and Obama acted in his official capacity as President. So immunity for a President is a good thing.

@@Matt2023 you should consider the President is an equal branch of government. So in my example Obama acted in his official capacity as Commander and Chief and should be protected from frivolous prosecution. Now if a prosecutor could prove the action was say because it was a political rival, then it would not be an official act thus subject to prosecution. I think they chose the right path. Think for a moment, Trump could get in office and Biden could be subject to prosecution for something like secretly helping Ukraine in a way Congress did not pre authorize. So he would be protected justly so because acting as President he is an equal branch of government.

It is obvious that Sotomayor wasn't appointed because of her intelligence or legal expertise, she was appointed because she is Hispanic female. And the same is true of Jackson, whose qualifications were that she was a Black female. In the age of DEI, you must embrace mediocrity.

SCOTUS is a potliical appointment, like you can predict how a sitting judge will rule based purely on which party nominated them, that's not justice in the least. the last 3 judges were groomed by the federalist society, which makes is hilarious to hear conservatives cry about activist judges when that's what their whole plan has been as they've seized the court by dubious and likely corrupt means.
