Windows 2000 can run nicely on a Pentium II 233 with 48 MB RAM. Give it a clean reinstall without all the crap on it and it runs just fine. And if you happen to find a rare PATA 2.5" SSD it will run better than when it was brand new. Would be a nice hobby project.
I lasted 2:35 and couldn't go on. That's real torture, bringing back PTSDs that were healed and memories of installing Win95 from a literal BRIEFCASE full of floppy disks for a whole night.
Well, one of the desktops my parents use is just as bad, if not worse. And I'm sitting here typing this from the fastest computer in the house, which happens to be mine. Thankfully Mum now has a newer computer that is about as fast as my school laptop, which is pretty much the second fastest computer in the house.
I’m not sure if the fact that I thought “oh, it’s not that bad” is funny or just sad. Our school didn’t have horrible computers for their time but there was one A5 paper sized pc and windows was installed in a 32gb flash drive.
My old computer with Windows XP literally took (not joking here) 20+ minutes to start. Everytime I needed to print something I turned it on before lunch, ate and came back. (and sometimes it still wasnt ready...)
Same here. I turned off "fast boot" because it always went to sleep on its own during my "computing sessions" (lol). So, now, it boots as slow as this PC. It's always better to let it completely boot up for about 15 minutes, then, it is usable. Otherwise even if the OS is loaded, and you try to open a (e.g) a browser, it'll take a good while for that 😝🌛 Afterwards, it works fine 😉
Him : Meet the slowest laptop School Computer : Let me Introduce. Reason : *In 1 hour class* 1 min = checking if everyone's present. 4 min = doing exercice 55 min = waiting for the windows starting.
@@AaronTechnic People rag on them because they are used in many low-cost OEM applications compared to the likes of WD and Seagate. The PS4 and later Xbox Ones used Toshiba drives a ton and because many consoles, cheap laptops, and cheap desktops are using these Toshiba drives, people give them a bad name when they slow down or fail.
