Tardigrade's tun state is also seen as halfway between life and death, because in this state tardigrades are capable of hardly anything of what we see as the defining obligations of "being alive". So those tardigrades that died while in tan state give rise questions according were exactly life ends and death begins. Did they just die while being dead?
