@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072the original voice actor for Iroh passed away I believe, and thus they needed a secondary voice actor for Iroh since they were midway into the show. The second voice actor made sure to honor the first voice actor as much as he can
@@sportluver98 Mako passed away shortly after finishing his recordings for season 2. Greg Baldwin took over for season 3 but wanted Mako to be the person people identified with the character. That’s why Iroh had less lines in season three than in the previous seasons, and I think is also why Greg won’t sing Leaves From the Vine
I love so much how Greg Baldwin always respects Mako by stating "I'm his second voice ' and the fact he will not sing Leaves From The Vine. Genuine dude.
@bibster5771 I watched this when I was younger, and just randomly happened to come across this guy's channel a while back. It feels surreal to find out he was the voice actor.
@@iluvjay6911 He is as good as it gets-- I really like how the voice actor always acknowledges that he's the secondary VA and he can never replace Mako.
@@simplicity3449 Now imagine when we go back and the husband of one of the female astronauts we absolutely all know will eventually go there says that to him. She isn't the moon but she's on it.
@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 It IS true. Iroh was initially voiced by Mako Iwamatsu. A tribute was placed at the end of Book 2, Chapter 15, “The Tales of Ba Sing Se,” as he passed before the episode’s airing of esophageal cancer. His last voice appearance was in the finale of Book 2, “Crossroads of Destiny.” Greg Baldwin officially started voicing Iroh in Book 3, Chapter 4, “Sokka’s Master.”
Can some one make an avatar vr game already where we can bend and practice and stufff with customization and actual good programming I would spend so much money
@@patrickcosmos6861 How much better can you be when the entire series coddled you for being an entitled, selfish bitch??? The Legend of Korra is trash fanfiction of the original series, especially since they didn't keep any of the original writers or followed their own lore such as the Air Benders being modeled often tibetan monks (but Tibetan monks are also not LGBT friendly and also value abstinence, hierarchy and reject western materialism and female dominance) . So yeah, it's no wonder that something that actively shits on the cultures, ideas and stories that made her in the first place never got better.
Greg Baldwin always stating that he is the second voice of Iroh is just wholesome as hell.He made a perfect job filling the void Mako left behind himself, and he still have such respect and humility for his predecessor.
He is wonderful. I got the pleasure of meeting him about 2 months ago and he gave me a hug and just talked with me for a bit, and he always signs stuff as "Iroh 2.0"
@@matthewklein660 Sadly Yes, Leaves from the vine was one of if not THE last thing he recorded before his death. Greg took over after Mako passed. Apparently Mako's daughter or granddaughter (i can't remember) cried when she went to one of Greg's recording sessions because he was able to sound like Mako so well
Her normal voice is exactly like Korra, but she’s so happy all the time, that her voice doesn’t go lower all that often, which Korra’s does quite a lot.
I didn't realize the guy from ChrisandJack was the voice actor of Sokka till just now. The skits he does are genuinely great and funny It's also incredibly ironic the short before this was from his channel
Most of the main cast were kids themselves when they made the show. Sokka was 17, Aang was 11, Toph 11'ish, Katara 16. So you can rest assured. They know how kids felt watching the show.
@@Dkmasterisyup also most voice actors don’t see the results until the premiere after they record their lines there done until the project is almost out
“Follow your passion my friends, and life will reward you” uncle iroh will forever be my favorite character of this show… so much wisdom and knowledge i have learned from him.
What is really amazing about voice actors, is how they act with their whole bodies and facial expressions, even when we normally only hear their voices. It makes such a difference to the sound that comes out, when they fully embody their roles and it's so clear to see here.
Even just smiling, regardless of if the person you talk to can see it, will make your voice sound more friendly. Learned that when I worked in callcenters
Whenever I tried getting into voice acting I would see everywhere from experts that the best advice to become a voice actor or dub actor is to study to become an actor first. And yeah, I can see why that's important.
@@0cissor7Well i think that's the point, she did a phenomenal job to instill us with hate of her character to the point she's everyones favorite villian ♥️👍
It’s because the voice actors has to change their voice, their emotions needed to fit to the voice and the energy it needs for the voice to produce right.
I met Greg Baldwin at my local Comicon two years ago and he was the coolest, most down to Earth celebrity I’ve ever spoken with! He actually spent time to have a genuine conversation with me and my friends and even though it is standard at my Comicon to charge money for pictures (when we walked in there was a sign that said any photo would be $20 or more) he offered to take a photo with us for free :)
I'm pretty sure the reason he said 2nd voice is because the original voice actor did die and I think in tales of ba sing se when he sang leaves From the vine that was in memorial of the original voice actor.😢😢 it's so sad.
Actually that episode is the last one Mako (the original voice actor) did, and apparently this second VA said he doesn't sing Leaves from the Vine, because that song was Mako's ❤
Yeah, Mako the og Iroh voice actor died in 2006 because of cancer. Greg Baldwin then voiced Iroh, from then on. He also voiced Aku in later seasons of Samurai Jack
