You guys need to understand that in Korea and in Japan, being half is not exactly something they're proud of or vocal about. Halfties get bullied for being such, so I would understand if the half-Filipino in UNIS isn't very much vocal about it. Just let her be. The important thing is she acknowledges her roots.
yup even NewJeans' Danielle couldn't get away with it, the girl is such a ray of sunshine and is talented yet knetz still bullies her just because she's half, sad truth
true mga Koreans kase, feeling superior. Eh may halo naman din sila pati mga traditions nila heavily influenced by either Japanese or Chinese. lol sarado utak ng marami sa kanila.
Hyeonju is not very vocal about being filipino since she grew up in korea mostly... the only thing that connects her to her filipino side is her mom, she is more korean than half filipino.
She did mention it in one of her interviews in a variety show that she has a filipino mother. Im just not sure if she was in cignature that time or her first group. And recently, she did mention that her mom sent them filipino food, bilo bilo, in their dorm in which elisia was so grateful for. Mind you, it was heonju who told elisia what that food was, coz i think elisia forgot the name of the dish. She may not be as vocal gehlee about her roots, but she never denies it. Sometimes, she even initiate the topic.
I personally spoke with her in a 1:1 video call, and she acknowledges her Filipino roots and even answered when asked if she has been in the Philippines, she said ofcourse, couple of times. She even shared she loves adobo and described it. One thing for sure she is not ashamed to be a Filipino, and she loves her parents a lot. She said mahal kita too but admit she only know few tagalog words.
hyeonju might not like this... she seems nice but i guess for her career, she's evading her being a half blooded Filo being brought out to the open. There's still racism in Korea just not that obvious
@@user-um3mh5mj2b LOL You're clueless. "Filipino" is an insult in Korea. Hyeonju will not claim to be Filipino, if she wants to be a successful KPOP idol.
@@gardogodinez6621she did mention it before UNIS. she's not as vocal about it as gehlee or elisia because she barely knows about ph and i doubt if she even came to ph before
If they discriminate because they are filipino, then we will also do the same. Koreans are not so good in singing and dancing that's why Filipinos are well known around the world for such talent
3 Filipinos. Her mom is Pinay that’s Asian x Asian! Some full blood Filipinos look more chinito than Koreans! I know as Spanish person. Chanty from Lapillus is bi-racial she’s half my people!
@@tnazealot2143 well did she say that she's half Filipino when she's a part of unis?? watch the clip! what she was now. not the signature era. this era we are talking about now. if yo really now them.
@@monsterhuntergo I know she's half, but the question here is she really represent the philippine for being half Filipino? she said that when she was in cignature. but now in unis, she said she is Korean. watch the clip when she introduces herself when they debut.
@@zhizuke1 not really. She had interview along with cignature a year ago saying she is half Filipino. You can search Cignature half Filipino. It is not after UT.
I think hyeonju is not that proud being called Filipino that's why it's actually uncomfortable now seeing her beside Elisia at Gehlle. I'd rather talk about Filipino regards to elisia and gehlee never hyeonju.
I think she not showy. Because in some of their interview she said one time her mother cooked bilo bilo if I'm not mistaken and this is Filipino delicacy maybe they talk Filipino culture behind camera just my theories
