Kimberly Carlisle ,hi Kimberly, my name is Christine, I’m so sorry your right hip failed, although im not sure why, I have a few questions about your surgery and care and the time,pain...etc... I have been diagnosed with avascular necrosis of both knees , and since this disease has been so aggressive, it’s moved to my arms and shoulder area , it took 8 surgeons from all over Virginia to actually diagnose my disease. My only option now is to have surgery on just about every major joint in my body. The pain is indescribable to most people, and I will now have to have many surgeries to get the dead tissue off the joints. I’m bedridden and out of my mind with this pain. I’m interested in getting your personal opinion concerning the Drs, which are trauma orthopedic surgeons. These Drs are the only ones who are even familiar with this type of surgery. I was first referred to a hospital, however I had no idea what I was going exactly experience. I’m now just realizing that perhaps I need to be going to a bigger University like UVA, because the surgeons seem very compassionate and really caring as opposed to being treated like I have a boo- boo, that needs a bandaid or so busy ... overwhelmed with GSW patients they really don’t have time to baby or help me emotionally. So, with my lengthy intro to you about my situation..what can you tell me about your experience at UVA, and their orthopedic surgeons? If you will, because my condition is extremely serious and complex and I need surgery several surgeries to be exact. In addition I need these surgeries to live, my body is in pain, pain medication I have is good, but if taken to long will do me no good post operative pain. Our bodies build up a tolerance and there’s only so much pain medication Drs can give you preoperative. My surgeries should have been done or started over a year ago. I’m scared, I don’t have a good support system and im at a loss and loneliness is not helping me at all. Anything you would like to share with me, is greatly appreciated and I thank you for reading my novel, lol,which I said would be just a few questions. Also, I’m 4 hours away from UVA, and below poverty level since I’ve been without income after resigning from a surgery center. Which I realize is ironic, but anyone who is a medical professional can tell you, we make the worst patients... 😅 I don’t have an active email that I can retrieve responses from,my son normally helps me with computer issues and things of this nature , however he works, has 4 children and a family crisis, therefore he’s not able to help me out with much.
