Some of us of timers know Daniel Gonora from years ago, I personally know him from 1988 when I first saw him playing music in town with his friend on drums made from paint tins. They performed corner first street and Gordon avenue in front of Founders Banks those who know will know. They called themselves Masaisai band and even had a hit song and video rotation on Mvengemvenge tv show. I wish the old boy all the best and I’m glad he’s still following his dream.
Even though no one can choose the one to be helped by those who have the means, Sometimes I think we must help needy people like this man than wasting thousands of dollars buying cars and everything to those who already afford the basics. Most of us can just afford to give him two or three dollars when we meet him in the streets, but it won't get him far.
These, including many who are out there, are the definition of people who need help. When you help those who already have, you're simply atopping to yourself what you already have. It's all about you, and nothing else in it.I have had the opportunity to learn the most important lesson in life, a lesson about what I may call Satan's first son, called SELF.The greatest war that man has ever fought is against "self", and selfishness has conquered.
Most prominent and successful musicians were uplifted by others, they never started at the top. Why is it that you don't look back and uplift others who now need your assistance? I know that the industry is not smooth even for them that are in it already but as musicians support each other. Let us learn from our music icon Mr Oliver Mutukudzi, he supported and uplifted most of the prominent musicians today. Why can't we follow his footsteps as musicians. Let us have a willing heart to help one another. This man is talented and if helped, his music and name will always be found on our music charts.
